Re: Project crashed while saving, can't open again

So if there is no AUTOSAVE file, are you trying to open an AUP file that you had saved before the save that crashed? I suppose Audacity tried to save into that file and crashed before the saving process was finished. So I have only one AUP file. There will only ever be one finished AUP file if you ...

Re: Remove specific windows sounds

I doubt they are Windows sounds in the sense of being Windows system sounds. If they are though, you can turn them off so they do not get into the recordings by right-clicking over the speaker icon by the system clock, then choose "Sounds". Then choose the "No sounds" sound schem...

Your favourite Audacity feature of random block file numbering started in Audacity 1.3.0.

Otherwise, as Steve said.

Based on the reported bit rate of 96 kbps that various tools agree on (or any sane bit rate) it could not be longer than a second or less given the file size?

Re: Compiling Audacity code from GitHub

Did you build the correct version of widgets for which you are compiling Audacity?

If yes, have you tried building Audacity without the ASIOSDK_DIR set? If that works, then including ASIO support could be the problem. I don't know if anyone has tested ASIO building with wx3.0.2.

Re: Problem importing key bindings to 2.1.0 or 2.1.1

I would specifically not want us to change the colorway of the Recent Peak meters as the color is intended to be an indicator of the level of signal saturation. Agreed, but this is about making that colour more visible. Low visibility of recent peak in the gradient meters is another reason I person...

Re: Compiling Audacity code from GitHub

Did you set the WXWIN environment variable and restart the computer before building Audacity?

Re: No Dialogue Box will open

Problem Statement - No Dialogue Box will open from menu selection. Select "File-Open" and nothing happens, same for options which should give you a Dialogue Box. Preferences works fine. Environment - Windows 10 upgraded from Windows 8.1. Single screen. Originally running 2.0.3 and had the...

Re: Short Recordings

Audacity settings don't affect this.

Some cheap USB turntables are prone to the problem you describe. Look in the manual for the turntable for any lift-off adjustment there might be. But if the problem persists you'll need to ask the turntable manufacturer or supplier.

Re: Problem importing key bindings to 2.1.0 or 2.1.1

After manually entering the missing key bindings, I found that the 'B' (play to selection) and 'C' (play cut preview) keys were crippled in 2.1.1. Restoring Defaults re-enabled these keys. B and C (or whatever binding you assign to them) have been fixed now for the next 2.1.2 release. Sorry about t...
