Re: Recording two inputs at once
Good day, This post is dated 2012 but things do change and I need some help. I am using Windows 7 with the recent version of Audacity. I have two USB going into my desktop. One of them is a microphone "audio-technical" http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/c75c5918ed57a8d0/ the oth...

Re: troubleshooting opening iTunes songs
Assuming the songs are not DRM protected, you should be able to drag them from iTunes into Audacity (if it's open). If Audacity is closed, drag the song to the Audacity application icon or shortcut icon. If you drag the song to Audacity's taskbar icon, this pins the song to the Audacity taskbar &quo...

Re: Audacity for Windows 10 Works for Me!
Thanks for the feedback, coolmadmelvin. Drivers from Realtek will be generic (not perfectly matched to your hardware) so are second-best compared to Windows 10 drivers supplied by the computer or motherboard manufacturer (if there are any). Sometimes, Windows 8.1 drivers supplied by the computer man...

Re: No Audio during recording
I am trying to get my Audio-Technica (connected via USB) turntable configured with Audacity. The computer system is running PCLinuxOS KDE 64 bit and the Audacity software is 2.1.1 (installed from the PCLinuxOS repositories). My objective is to transfer my vinyl to .mp3's. I am at the point that I c...

Re: ffmpeg: locating libavformat.v
I don't know what you have been reading, but Audacity looks for libavformat.55.dylib, not libavformat.v or libavformat.tv. Audacity 2.0.6 and later support FFmpeg 1.2 to 2.3.x (or libav 0.8 to 0.10.x), so libav 0.11.x will never work. Follow what Steve wrote, or export as WAV or AIFF and convert to ...

Re: Is there any way to fix this audio leaking problem?
i can have the headphones at the same volume but record the microphone using a USB soundcard, the headphones are not heard whatsoever but using a USB sound card prevents other problems that don't occur with just using the combo jack. That sentence does not make sense. Do you mean using a USB sound ...

Re: Error recording streaming audio at in win 10
Also have you tried Audacity project rate of 44100 Hz? From http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.1.1#wasapi : Physical inputs may fail "error opening", especially when overdub recording. Try setting Audacity project rate to 44100 Hz then for both the playback and the recording...

Re: sorting 1000+ au files not working!!
I recorded a piano recital and now have 1000+ au files. I have imported them into Audacity 2.1.0, but they do not play in order. I selected All, then sorted all by start time then go to tracks and align then end to end. Also sorted by name, but did not change anything. Audacity took 60 minutes of a...

Re: Problems With Keyboard Input
So did you connect to the mic port of your computer, or much preferable, to the blue line-in if you have that? If you do that, as the blog forgets to point out, you must actually choose the computer input you are connected to in Audacity's Device Toolbar.
