Re: how to cut out backround noise
If it's for a court case, as many of these types of requests are, you should use your favourite search engine to look for "audio forensics". Only a forensics practitioner recognised by the legal system would be regarded as able to provide legally admissible audio evidence. Otherwise you &q...

Re: Mosquito flight sound extraction
I have no difficulty in 'seeing' flight, I want to have it automatically extracted from the 10 hr file. Again if there is enough amplitude difference between flight/non-flight you "may" be able to use Truncate Silence to remove the non-flight sections and so make a track that only contain...

Re: Recovering Sessions
I recently recorded an interview. In the middle of the interview, there was a power failure and I lost phone communication with the participant. I selected stop instead of pause while I dialed the participant back. Upon regaining connection, I selected recorded which recorded over what was previous...

Re: Original (mp3) audio sampling rate
Moved to "Adding features". I noted your request. There are no immediate plans to implement it, but it is quite a popular request. Note that kbps properties is the bit rate not the sample rate . If you have imported the MP3 into a fresh project with no tracks, the project rate bottom left ...

That is not what you said - you said you were recording a flat line.DavidGeorgeVoices wrote:Tried to record Stereo in Audacity - still no audio playback
If you are recording waveforms but cannot hear them, set up audio playback as before in Audio MIDI setup.

Re: Audacity Won't Open
I am using version 2.1.1 on Windows 10 Audacity has stopped working for me. I was using it yesterday to edit audio like I normally do. Nothing special. I closed all my files. A few hours later, I tried to open it and Audacity would not open. The logo would pop up in the middle of the screen and tha...

You could try stereo.DavidGeorgeVoices wrote:I always set audacity to record in Mono since it is mainly set to record Voice over
Note that you may have to choose the MobilePre explicitly as input device in GarageBand. It will record silence if it is set to the wrong input device.

Re: Mac OS X 10.11; Audacity 2.1.1 dmg installer
In Audio Midi set up Mobilepre is 44100 hz it reads 2 in / 2 out (but not sure how to change that to mono) With the MobilePre selected in Audio MIDI Setup, click the "Input" tab in the pane on the right. There are two boxes to right of the "Format" row. Click in the box that cur...

Re: Mac OS X 10.11; Audacity 2.1.1 dmg installer
Took a chance and upgraded from OSX 10.11 to 10.11.1 and now Audacity will play back a previously recorded file but I can't seem to record. Mic is on. XLR Cables are connected to mic to mobilepre USB. I went through our previous notes but still not able to record. Project Rate 44100 Settings are Co...
