Re: Audacity 2.1.3 - Problem with Open/Save dialog

I tried that, no way... But in other products the "Open/Save" dialog appears! Exactly what did you try - Reset Preferences? You have to try everything I wrote. If you have a security application that has decided to monitor or distrust Audacity but not other applications, then other applic...

Re: Audacity crashes

Waxycylinder, I'm thrilled it's working for you. Ever since the Sierra install, Audacity has been crippled. I open the program, hit record, and it opens a track but it freezes. I click record again it opens a separate track and it just flat lines. It doesn't record the audio. Any theories as to wha...

Re: Audacity crashes

... Also, any idea when Audacity will be compatible with Mac's Sierra operating system? It already is - I have 2.1.m 2.1.3 and the latest alpha all running sweetly on my Macbook Pro under macOS 10.12.3 Sierra Please note that officially, Audacity only has partial Support for Mac Sierra - but the pr...

Re: USB inputs to Audacity with MacBook Pro

Have a look at Recording with USB turntables or USB cassette decks . I doubt the converter has special drivers that need to be installed on Mac. Read the manual for the converter if you are in doubt. Most importantly, either connect the USB converter before you launch Audacity, or if you do it after...

Re: Recording breakup

Second: Although some times I felt you were really not paying close enough attention to what I actually wrote, I do completely understand the challenges of anyone in your position. I will give you an example. It is quite common for users to try to attach a TRS plug into a TRRS combo input and get o...

Re: Audacity crashes

If the recording itself is not corrupted then your answer is in the link I posted before: Why do I hear clicky playback on Mac? . The prime recommendation there is to reduce Audacity's "Audio to buffer" setting in Recording Preferences. It is possible this may help prevent flatlining too, ...

Re: Audacity recording quality drops when screen recording

I contacted Razer support, but apparently, I can't be helped because my product is out of warranty... I've run out of ideas and I'd like to not buy a new microphone at this moment in time. Unfortunately we cannot see your computer from here. Exactly which Seiren is it, and are you using the XLR to ...

Re: recording device error

True, I do tend to leave the computer on a long time. How frequently do you recommend? It depends on the device and possibly the data demands you put on it. If you record at very high sample rates it might need more frequent reboot than otherwise. Rebooting every few days may be a rule of thumb, if...

Re: Themes

The latest 2.2.0-alpha nightly build at the top of http://gaclrecords.org.uk/win-nightly/ (or any build from 10 April 2017 or later) now has a "Hi Contrast" Theme. You can select it in Interface Preferences. It is based on Windows High Contrast #2 because that seems to give the largest con...

Re: Audacity crashes

You did not say what version of Audacity you are using (see the pink panel at the top of the page). I suggest you use the latest Audacity 2.1.3 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac . I love the simplicity of Audacity but I have a couple of problems running it on my Mac. OS X El Capitan Vers...
