Re: Track Names Change When A Track Is Deleted
What version of Audacity and Windows? Please see the pink panel at the top of the page. Are you doing Export Multiple and splitting files based on tracks? The name of the tracks determines the exported file names. You can name the tracks as you wish (including a chosen number if you wish) by clickin...

Re: Audacity for Windows 10
Now that Microsoft is determined to shove Windows 10 down our collective throats (MS news released on 10/29/2015), are there any near-future plans to provide a version of Audacity that is supported by Windows 10? Does that MS news change anything about what Gale's earlier post says relative to usin...

Re: Zoom Normal (Cmd+2) cursor position
So, is there something questionable in my methodology of aligning -90 dB on Meter Toolbar with 30.000 seconds on the Timeline after generating the tone, or after generating the tone and zooming to the selection? I got my measurement of the alleged "drift" by clicking in in the track as clo...

Re: Burning Audacity audio formats [SOLVED]
I have done it for you by editing the title. And then we lock the topic, so there is a clean solution without someone posting a related but different question into the topic.frustration22 wrote:How do you mark a posting as "Solved?"

Yes. Or if you are in an apartment, even the neighbour's phone if you are close to a wall.kozikowski wrote:I've had my phone ruin recordings.
Or even a nearby cellphone mast.

Re: Zoom Normal (Cmd+2) cursor position
I am not sure what you mean by the zoom in to 29.5 seconds after the fit vertically and set the cursor at 50 seconds. Can you elaborate? As per your steps, except for zooming to selection after step 1. Generate tone 1 minute. Zoom to selection Accurately note the centre of the visible track (the &q...

Re: Folders for export
I often use Audacity for converting wav-files to Flac and I'd like the program to save the exported files in the same folder as where it is read (the source) from Sorry it's not possible if the source directory changes all the time. Audacity just exports to the folder it last exported to. I will re...

Re: Recording of computer playback drops away to nothing
I have never personally seen any enhancements offered (even sound effects) for the What U Hear/Stereo Mix input. If sound effects are suddenly being applied to all playback, it may be best to look at the control panel for your sound device, somewhere in the Windows Control Panel. Or it could be a dr...
