Re: MP3 Files won't play in Audacity
I did try all the steps in the first response with no improvement. There is no external device. Also see this topic http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=290576#p290576 . Is Audacity the only app that has this problem? What is your workflow? If you are just joining or splitting MP3's you ca...

Re: Sample Tank 3 Plugin?
According to IK it's VST 2 as well. If not, we could have ruled it out in Audacity to begin with.falconep wrote:The other problem is that SampleTank3 is VST3 64-bit.

Re: Trouble recovering data
Please remember, it is much easier for us if you tell us your version of Audacity and version of OS X (see the pink panel at the top of the page). I had started a new project using Audacity, and my computer had crashed before I saved it. You should take Macs crashing very seriously. To begin with, o...

Re: INSERTING PRE RECORDED AUDIO INTO A SPECIFIC PLACE
Another workaround.
Click in a track at the time position you want to import.
File > Import > Audio... or drag the file in.
Tracks > Align Tracks > Start to Cursor/Selection Start.
You can create a shortcut for the align command in Keyboard Preferences.

Re: waveform size
I've used the Command+1 to zoom in and it usually creates an image with a lot of lines and doesn't give me what I had before when I was editing audio text earlier this year. COMMAND + 1 has not changed. You said before you could not get a detailed enough view, but now you say you don't want to zoom...

Re: No signal Presonus AudioBox
Thanks, cyrano. Just to note in http://support.presonus.com/entries/20353062-How-do-I-completely-remove-AudioBox-VSL-on-my-Mac- that Apple has removed "Repair Disk Permissions" from El Capitan's Disk Utility. If user permissions really do need to be reset, see https://discussions.apple.com...

Re: Minimize and Maximize buttons have disappeared [SOLVED]
Thanks, Koz. That did it. The first place I went to was Window. I saw that Zoom and thought it was to zoom in on the tracks. It always helps to say what version of Audacity and what version of OS X (see the pink panel at the top of the page). This problem of getting the Audacity title bar trapped u...

Re: Playback Does "Pop" Then Doesn't Play
Exactly what sound device are you playing to? Exactly what Mac model is it? The "pop" usually happens when Audacity tries to restart the audio system after Mac's battery saving routine shuts it downs. Restarting the computer then launching Audacity without letting any other app play a soun...

Re: How to preserve timecode and filename when copying
i have an interview in three separate wav files. I want to copy and paste clips from those files into a new file to make a rough version. Then I'll make a final clean edit, for which I may need to go back to the original files for more matieral etc. I'd like to be able to read off from my rough edi...

Re: How to preserve timecode and filename when copying
That is only true for white space before the first audio clip. White space between clips is always respected on export.kozikowski wrote:I think it's still true that Audacity will not consider blank spaces on the timeline as valid and deletes them on Export.
