Re: Audacity resets sample rate under ASIO
Thanks for the report. Note this is nothing to do with compiling Audacity per se, nor is it a stated difference between Windows 7 and Windows 10 so I split your post to a new topic in the Windows board with a relevant title. I think it is a known bug or limitation in Audacity or PortAudio's ASIO sup...

Re: Unable to access/adjust Bass Treble,No Stereo,Too Distor
1) I cannot access the Bass/Treble controls from Export or ANY OTHER tab on the Menu Are you talking about the Bass and Treble effect in Audacity? To use that, press the yellow Stop button then select some audio before accessing the Effect menu. Note that Macs do not let you control the input volum...

Re: Project Corruption on Export
Please tell us what version of Audacity you are using. See the pink panel at the top of the page. It is is best to use the latest 2.1.3 that has the latest fixes: http://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac . Is it the export that is bad or the original recordings? Exactly which export command are you ...

Re: Audacity won't start (Ubuntu 16.10) error
Have you self-compiled PortAudio or some application that uses it, or installed a new audio application since installing 16.10? What does this return? ldd /usr/bin/audacity | grep portaudio If it returns /usr/lib/ then I would report it to Ubuntu because it looks like a system problem. Also if you u...

Re: Using Chains to perform a simple task - not working
Have you upgraded to 2.1.3 yet? Equalization does not work properly with Chains. If you use Equalization from the menus and change the curve, that current curve will be applied in the Chain, not the curve specified in the Chain. And in 2.1.1 any applied curve is saved flattened (that is, with no cha...

Re: Sound muted
Have you done a cold boot lately? Windows key, Power Menu, hold SHIFT and press "Shut down". In case something has reset speech recognition you could right-click over the speaker icon by the system clock, then choose "Recording Devices". Right-click over the Audio Technica then c...

Re: How to apply a large number of equalization curves
Even if Chains had an Import command that let you select a file, you would still have to spend a lot of time inserting Equalization commands into the Chain for the different EQ curves. So I think the answer is no, unless you are skilled at AutoHotkey or similar and wrote some kind of macro that iter...

Re: Report a Bug ... v. 2.1.3
My Audacity is installed in Program Files (x86)\Audacity, and when I add the "Portable Settings" folder in Program Files (x86)\Audacity --- Audacity will not open. It was a just a test. If you exit Audacity, add an empty "Portable Settings" folder (without the quotes) to Program...

We couldn't answer your question until you got back from Comcast to tell us the format they actually wanted. And U-Law can be 6000 Hz or 8000 Hz. But we did guess what base format they wanted.

Re: Using Chains to perform a simple task - not working
As it says at the bottom of http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/apply_chain.html The exported files will be saved in a folder named "cleaned" in the same folder that the original files came from Does that solve the problem? The current Audacity version is 2.1.3: http://www.audacityteam.org/...
