Re: file name problem
Last time I recorded a track from an LP, I had the following answer : "Sorry, the names that have more than 256 signs can't be recorded" when in fact the name had about twenty letters including the spaces. There is a "MAX_PATH" limitation of 260 characters in the complete path t...

Re: can't record and noise on playback
So are you saying the recording is completely perfect if you play it with WASAPI host - it is only a playback problem? If so what is your selected playback device in Audacity? For some tips that might help with recording under WASAPI see: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Windows_7_OS#sample_rates (...

Re: New boy cannot play a WAV file
If the worst comes to the worst you can record it into Audacity: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tu ... ndows.html using Windows WASAPI (loopback).
But FFmpeg would likely import it OK.

Re: How to move songs to PC
Also, please read this about the risks of running XP on an internet-connected computer: Important information for Windows XP users . Downloading the songs as mentioned by Doug (instead of recording them) means they will be in exactly the same quality as they are on the web. You would use your favour...

Re: Audacity wont load
I assume you mean "Lenovo". All I get is the oblong box with the headphones and the logo and it stays there. And stays there. In case the project is corrupted, just double-click on audacity.exe. Don't drop the AUP file on audacity.exe or otherwise open the project while opening Audacity. I...

Re: Recording Level Limited
Assuming you are recording in mono, the strict limiting at +/-0.5 makes me pretty sure it is the known Audacity (PortAudio?) limitation that it thinks of mono as half of a stereo pair and doesn't let you record just one channel of that pair: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_trouble...

Re: Editing bar by bar
I have noted themickster's "vote". I'm a bit concerned that despite the number of requests for time as bars and beats, we don't have it listed as a specific feature request, but only as a sub-item of "BPM and beat timecode automatic detection and beat matching". There is a note ...

Re: Audacity doesn't play
Device ID's in the sequence cannot be missing. You don't show the selected Audacity devices at the bottom of the device info, which is one thing we want to see. Please open the Audio Device Info again. Right-click in the window and choose "Select All". Right-click again and choose "Co...

Re: Problem with vocals doing vinyl to CD conversion
Isn't phase inversion an integral part of noise reduction? Noise Removal applies Inverse FFT after applying Gain to the complex FFT. If Jim played the song without applying effects then exported, the fact that Beats audio or the headphones was applying bad cancelling would not affect the export. If...

Havit HV-H2073d plugged into headphone jack Doesn't click while using Steam chat. You don't record the headset using Steam chat, I assume? The headset has green and pink jack plugs, so you have both plugs connected to the computer, pink to mic port and green to headphones port, right? Sample attach...
