Re: Both input/ouput of Skype call picked up by Audacity

I'm recording my portion of a Skype call for a podcast but Audacity, rather than just picking up my audio, is recording both myself and the person I am speaking to. Yes, don't use Audacity to record Skype, even only just your side. The specialist Skype recording apps can record each side cleanly to...

Re: Problem with vocals doing vinyl to CD conversion

I can see it happening if the Windows mixer is somehow set to mix what's being recorded or playing with the internal mic. Since that would result in some latency, it would result in reverb/echo. If there was no latency, it would result in awful feedback. Combined with room acoustics, you'd get some...

Re: sound waves but no sound on playback of recording

Are you sure you recorded tall blue waves that look something like this? http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/m/images/9/92/postjoinsmall.png Are the green meters bouncing when you play that track in Audacity? Make sure you have not muted the recorded track (the Mute button to left of the waves). If you...

Re: Trouble recovering data

Yeah, that's the whole thing. All of the separate files in the project folder are all flat lines where there used to be recorded audio data, too Then there is nothing to be done, I am afraid. :( Are you sure you did not save the recovered project with the audio missing? If you do that, you overwrit...

Is that the whole log, and did you get that log after restarting Audacity? That's what I need, so I see the log after Audacity tries to recover the project.

There are no data errors shown in that log.

Re: Motu input to Audacity

EDIT Sorry, Gale, I'm just too slow for ya  Still, you have a good point if there is some separate control panel for Motu - fnlmix should look there too to see that (at least) the sample rate matches with Audacity - though I guess changing the Motu settings should be reflected in Audio MIDI Se...

Re: Problem with vocals doing vinyl to CD conversion

Is it possible that the built in microphone was picking up the sound coming from the speakers and mixing it with the sound coming from the CODEC? Audacity can only record from one source at a time. The only way you should be able to record reflected audio from the receiver speakers would be if you ...

Re: Motu input to Audacity

I have a Motu lite that I use to interface with my computer to get audio in and out of it. How do I get audacity to use it for record? I see motu selected as my input source but I don't see any input. I need to be able to access the motu and tell Audacity to use 3 and 4 from the motu as it's inputs...
