Re: Debug Error

Please see the information required at the top of the page. Post problem reports in this Mac board, not in "Feedback and Reviews". If you are on Mavericks or later and exporting recorded tracks, you may need to confine recordings to one track only, and one project window only. Quit and res...

Re: popping and cracking

What setting up Audio/Midi setup avoids, is having unnecessary up or down sampling in Core Audio. And you really need it for anything that touches surround sound. It isn't a problem if you only record from one source and have only Audacity open. There's no up/downsampling in sight, Audacity can tal...

Re: Advantages/Disadvantages of converting

Is there any advantage/disadvantage of exporting my music file as a M4A (AAC) file as compared to exporting it as a Wave file then converting it to an iTunes Lossless (ACC) file, other than steps avoided? Will it sound the same? There was an issue when exporting AAC from Audacity/FFMPEG... IIRC - y...

Re: Volume

Are you selecting the correct USB input device in Device Toolbar ?

When you have done that, have you turned the input volume up in Mixer Toolbar?

Re: Audacity and headphones sudden problem

If you have erratic behaviour with your built-in sound device you may not have correct Windows 8.1 drivers for the audio device as supplied by the computer manufacturer. Go to the ASUS site and look for Windows 8.1 drivers for your specific computer model. If you already seem to have the latest driv...

Re: Audacity stops working

See https://www.raymond.cc/blog/test-your-ram-with-microsoft-windows-memory-diagnostic/ for how to test memory. On Vista and later you can open run, type mdsched.exe then click OK, but this is not as thorough check as MemTest86. You can also run CHKDSK to check the drive for errors. To do that, righ...

Re: Waveform disappeared! Please help :(

I very much doubt that Ccleaner will be the problem (unless you have manually configured it to "clean" that location). You could have a look to see if Eset Smart Security has "quarantined" the files/folders. Well CCleaner does have a checkbox for "temporary files", whi...

Re: Record system sounds and mic

well, no, i just explained technical constraint: audio recording device are limited to stereo (2 channels) since VISTA. So, if you are not under Windows XP, you have today 2 ways to record 5.1 or 7.1 audio coming from Game, DVD or others... - Using Voicemeeter Banana integrated recorder. - Connect ...

Re: Grating crackle/static occasionally shows up in playback

Your list does not contain a pulse device, so was that list from when you still had OpenSUSE? So far, I have used Audacity a little bit in Ubuntu Studio. The only problem that I have run into, at this point, is Audacity freezing up once, and being forced to close the program. This has happened with ...
