Re: timeshift clip changes size?
If you CTRL-drag and the clip won't go back, you only need a single Edit > Undo Time Shift to put the clip back. Gale CTRL-drag is a good tip but the problem with undo is that then any editing on the clip gets undone as well. I usually work on copies of clips so I don't mess up the main track. If t...

Re: Strange audio problem
@Gale Can you find that posting where I complained about the same error? Here, but only Forum Staff / Crew can see it http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=237759#p237759 . I notice that started as "just ticking" then morphed into overlaid pieces. The final clip is here: http://ko...

Re: Strange audio problem
It does, but it's now many lifetimes, not 13.5 hours at 44100 Hz, 6.75 hours at 88200 Hz and so on as it used to be.cyrano wrote:Audacity has an internal limit.

Re: Strange audio problem
It's not likely to be a "normal" error. USB errors don't neatly duplicate words one after the other. Most digital errors produce un-ordered garbage, holes or sounds unrelated to the show. And they never fix themselves. I agree the sound clip is not a normal USB error, but it started exact...

Re: Consecutive numbering across projects
This is really the root of my issue; for some files I'd like the first label to be considered the nth label instead. This way the metadata and the filenames wouldn't need tweaking. When you import a second file with track number of 10 in the metadata, Track Number in Metadata Editor already changes...

Re: windows 10 problem
We can tell you it won't be an Audacity problem. Are the missing instruments in one channel or the other?mictheguitar wrote:Yes, turntable is set to stereo recording. Still missing some instruments.

Re: Consecutive numbering across projects
Export Multiple automatically generates the track number in the metadata from the order of the labels or order of the Audacity tracks. You can change that number by clicking in the value cell for Track Number each time Metadata Editor pops up. However either of the "numbering" options for ...

Re: Strange audio problem
I can record, it recorded fine for over an hour before this problem gradually occurred. I'm asking now if there is any way to recover the data, and if there is any way to prevent it happening in future or if it is a bug in the software. It did not record fine due to the length you recorded for. USB...

Re: Displaying extension on Mac title bar
The word is extension.
You can specify the format to export to in the Export command in the Chain. Unfortunately AIFF is not an option but you can export to WAV which is fully compatible with iTunes.

Re: Strange audio problem
If you can, turn off WiFi.
Open Audacity > Preferences... , Recording section, set "Audio to Buffer" to zero, try to record, if it does not record, set it to 10 milliseconds, then so on upwards in 10 millisecond increments until it does record.
