Re: Strange audio problem
If we haven't scared him off, I'd be interested if he monitors the computer playthrough, even with the echo just to be sure the computer is getting the show OK. If it's a USB error, playthrough would be trash. Koz Sorry I disappeared. I'm not sure what you mean here by playthrough? If you turn on T...

Re: Windows 10 "error while opening sound device"
Guys, thank you for the information here. I encountered this problem when I upgraded to Windows 10, and feared a long period without being able to use Audacity, which by the way is great software. My drivers were all up to date. Following advice in this forum, I changed the sample rate from 44100 H...

Re: How to record from speakers
If you have just made changes in Windows Sound, restart Audacity. See this for more help: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.1.1#wasapi . You can also try recording from speakers (but not the wireless speakers) by choosing the Stereo Mix recording device in Audacity. When you do that,...

Re: How do I fix the Change Pitch (and Tempo)?
Normally I just change the pitch by one. On my old computer (Vista, Audacity 1.3), it can pitch change no problem, so I was wondering what's different and how I could change that. A change of 1 semitone should not have much artifacting. You could attach the original sample before you try to change ...

Re: Mutli-channel Export (Flac 5.1)
Audacity does not change the track order when exporting multi-channel FLAC. To verify that, create six tracks that are all visually different, export, then import the file back into Audacity. Perhaps your sound device maps the channels differently when it is playing a disc than when it is playing a...

Re: MD recordings - tracks play to end of longest track
You could use one Audacity track, labelling the track breaks then File > Export Multiple... . See Splitting a recording into separate tracks - Audacity Manual . If you need more help, please give us the necessary Audacity and Windows version information (see the pink panel at the top of the page). G...

Re: LAME Installing Error
I'm using LAME to turn my file into an MP3, and after I save the file it turns in to a normal file or a NET) file. If Audacity recognises LAME, are you putting dots (periods) into the file name? If you do that, add .mp3 at the end of the file name before you export. See http://manual.audacityteam.o...

Re: How do I fix the Change Pitch (and Tempo)?
How much are you trying to change tempo or pitch? By the laws of audio, if you change tempo, then pitch changes as well, and vice-versa. So you can only change one without changing the other by a modest amount before there are noticeable artifacts. If you want a higher quality result, use Sliding Ti...
