Re: Assign RAM as Temp file

Have recently bought an i7 PC with 16GB of RAM, and would like to have Audacity USE more RAM, and less hard drive to speed things up. That being when "undoing" functions, or zooming "back out" after focusing on a short segment, or when multiple Audacity windows in use. Generally...

Re: Audio throughput

What is the audio you are hearing that you don't want to hear? If the audio is input from the device you are recording from, right-click over the speaker icon by the system clock, then choose "Recording Devices". Right-click over the offending audio device then choose "Properties"...

Re: How to change to channel 2 when it's not shown as an opt

What is the make and model number of this converter? Do you have any other USB audio recording devices connected to the computer and might you have changed that other device to stereo and Windows does not even recognise the converter? I suggest you quit Audacity and try the procedure in the green bo...

Re: v2.1.1 Crashes After Opening Several MP3 Files

Ideally Audacity would not crash but the problem may be nothing to do with those files. Can you attach the ZIP file that the Debug Report generates? See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/help_menu.html#data . If the MP3 files do not play the correct length it may be better to repair them directly...

Re: Exported M4A file contain zero data

Also having FFmpeg : ERROR - Can't open audio codec 0x15002 resulting in 0 byte .m4a file. I am using Windows 8 and Audacity 2.1.1. Copied a .mp4 file into Audacity and silenced some parts of the resulting audio file. There were six (6) parts each part had : Mono, 48000Hz, 32-bit float. Project 480...

Re: Local volume adjustment

My proposal here is to make a toggleable option which could toggle its behaviour between the following: How it works now (affects the Windows master level directly) OR How it used to work: for example in Audacity version 2.0.0 which i'm currently using. There it doesn't affect Windows master volume...
