Re: Recording plays a semitone low
It's safe to assume that he'll have checked the project rate and made certain it was 44.1, and definitely not 48 - it's the 48 that's causing him (and anybody else in earshot!) grief! I disagree. If there is a fault with the converter so that it only deals with 48000 Hz and then Windows changes the...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 fails to import/export projects and wav/m
This may not be the answer for all cases, but make sure the files actually have WAV or MP3 extension: Does MediaInfo tell you the correct filename? Yes, and it usually gives you the audio data information even if the extension is wrong (as long as you drag the file into it). But I don't know if we ...

Re: Audacity 2.1.1 fails to import/export projects and wav/m
2) Of the exported WAV and MP3 files some can be opened in Windows MEdia Player (or VLC), others cannot. I am not aware of doing anything different between various exports, so to me this seems to depend on pure luck, if the export succeeds. 3) When I use "mediainfo" on the generated files...

No, they don't, because dynamic library loading only recognises one version of FFmpeg at a time.cyrano wrote:Do you really have three ffmpeg versions installed?whateverfileformat wrote:ffmpeg 55.33.100/55.52.102/52.66.100
What the poster is quoting are the correct F, C and U numbers for the recommended FFmpeg 2.2.2.

Re: Improving a (faint) recording of a talk from original
Try the famous Paul's de-esser Nyquist plugin: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=79278 Thank you; that looks promising. However I am having some issue with this plugin download. Audacity 2.1.0 & Windows 7. After downloading the plugin from the link in the first post when I try and move the downloaded pl...

Re: "Single Band Parametric" occasionally losing "Enable"
Problem#1, in real-time preview, the effect behaviour doesn't correspond with the control settings shown , ( apparently sometimes the changes in control settings aren't being updated ). Stopping then restarting playback sometimes cures Problem #1: the effect applied then matches the control setting...

It is exactly related, thought it isn't distortion due to excess volume:cyrano wrote:This shouldn't be related.I changed audio to buffer at 66 and the problem's gone

Re: Recording Live DJ sets from Pioneer DJM900NXS Audio Dela
I use the usb function on the mixer to record through a midi signal. I tried ASIO4ALL as well but then i can't get it to work. I am using the Pioneers Asio driver to record. You have to compile Audacity yourself for ASIO support. If you are using the downloaded release of Audacity it will not work ...

Re: Trying to convert a cassette to an MP3 through audacity
It will probably be better to delete the PDF you are reading which is for an obsolete version of Audacity and for Windows XP. See this Tutorial in our Manual instead Recording with USB turntables or USB cassette decks . Is the converter the only USB audio device you have connected to the computer? I...

Re: Recording plays a semitone low
As your father is not actually on a Mac (which is a completely different operating system) I moved this to the Windows board. Reference http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=89014 that's REALLY annoying! My father's got exactly the same problem, except it's the other way round! Not ...
