There should be no need to spend money. Soundflower works, even though it is not especially convenient. Recording Computer Playback on Mac OS X.

Re: VST rescan button doesn't show.
Please, if you want help, post in the main Help forum http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforum.php?f=45 to the board (Windows, Mac or GNU/Linux) for the operating system you are using. When there, tell us your Audacity version (all three numbers) and your operating system. That makes it many times ea...

Re: Crash when using "Manage" for effects etc. (2.1.1)
I use Sonic Visualiser for analysis, so I'd prefer not to have to alter my VAMP plugins as they work fine in SV. In that case you will need them to be disabled in Audacity. hmmmm, I don't have a pluginregistry.cfg Did you find the folder: Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Audacity\ ? What files are...

Re: Help! I accidentally closed without saving & want it bac
Please, if you want help, it's better to post in the board for your operating system. This makes it easier for us to help you. Please refer to the pink panel at the top of the page. Does anyone know if there's a way to retrieve a project what was mistakenly closed without saving or exporting? If you...

Re: Strange and annoying clickling and crackling from Audaci
I only start Audacity from the shortcut at desktop and it begins making crackling noise, as it opens. That is normal, because Audacity queries the sound devices. I don't know what to do. Please start by giving us the essential Audacity and Windows version information from the pink panel at the top ...

Re: Crash when using "Manage" for effects etc. (2.1.1)
Resetting preferences no longer resets your enabled plugins. One of those plugins is probably the problem. The 1.7.1 "Queen Mary" VAMP plugins cause what you are experiencing. If you have those plugins, uninstall them then replace them with the 1.7 plug-ins. If you are still stuck, open Ex...

Re: when adding titles to tracks the recording disappeared
Just to add that 2.1.2 when released will no longer allow you to set a temporary directory that is at risk from clean up apps.

Re: Administrator approval
In recent Windows systems, especially in Windows 10, all user accounts are treated as “ordinary” accounts, even the super “Administrator” account. In Windows 10, even “Administrators” cannot do as they please unless they show appropriate credentials. As in Windows 8 and 8.1, the hidden "elevat...

Re: VST Plugin Issues Win 10
Make sure you have the latest version of FLStudio, or it may not actually support Windows 10. If the problem persists with the updated plugin, please zip up the DLL file any other files required for it to run and send me a Private Message (PM) attaching the ZIP. The PM button is under my name in any...

Re: won't recognize audio devices
I was playing audio from the turntable to the computer, duh! That required the Audacity input be set to USB audio. Output was set to DFX Audio speakers (DFX is an audio enhancer). As I said, in the audacity.cfg you posted, output was set to "Speakers (USB Audio CODEC)". You can check that...
