Re: Audacity won't open

If there is still a problem, trash 2.1.1 and install 2.1.2 RC2 (for testing) from http://www.fosshub.com/Audacity.html . Be sure to follow these installation instructions: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=75660 . Reboot before launching 2.1.2 RC2. If problems persist after that...

Re: Recording missing certain layers of sound

If it's a USB input you may need to set it to stereo in Windows sound. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... #rinstereo.

Re: FFmpeg certificate expired?

Paul only had Lion running a more recent OS X as a virtual machine when he last attempted to update the certificate. El Capitan may not find such a certificate acceptable.

He is going to try to update the certificate on a real El Capitan machine.

Re: Sound dies when running audacity

We can't help with almost no information to go on. What version of Windows and Audacity? See the pink panel at the top of the page. Make and model number of the headset? Have you tried a different USB port? What are you doing when you run Audacity - playing audio, recording your voice, recording yo...

Re: Recovery dilemma, cant get past errors

I am stumped after my pc crashed during a recording You should take PC crashes seriously. Did you make sure you have latest drivers for your built-in sound device, like you said you were going to do? Assuming you have a branded computer like Dell or Lenovo, go to their site and download the latest ...

Re: No Luck with Sharper Image Electro Brand Cassette Record

You gave us good information, so thanks for that. Turn off Transport > Sound Activated Recording. That will cause the Pause button to engage when there is not a loud enough signal to record. You missed a step, which is to select the USB Audio CODEC for the converter as recording device in Audacity's...

Re: Autotune EFX 3, Macbook Pro with El Capitan, and Audacit

In that case the version of Audacity you are using does not support EFX3. What Audacity version are you using? Please see the pink panel at the top of the page. I don't think anyone here has an iLok, so there is no way for us to test EFX3. You can try Autotalent http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?...

Re: Track labels gone missing

I have recently installed Audacity 2.1.0 to run on Windows 7 and am recording tapes currently. After spending a lot of time recording and then labelling the tracks, which are saved as Export>audio as recommended by the manual, I find those labels missing on re-opening the files! This problem is not...
