Re: Recording plays a semitone low
The only time I mentioned a converter was when he was trying to transfer it to the Roland. He seems happy that the Audacity recording is at the same pitch/length as original. Does this Roland not have an analogue input? The laptop won't have a digital sound card, so why use a converter with an opti...

Re: Sound dies when running audacity
Whenever I run audacity the audio on my computer works for a brief moment, Try this: 1) Start playing some music in your preferred media player - ensure that it plays. 2) Launch Audacity, but do not do anything in Audacity, just let the program open. 3) Is your media player still playing? Note that...

Re: Sound dies when running audacity
Please do not try to deflect the issue to something that is not related just to end this topic. Actually we are all trying patiently to understand the issue from the information you give. You have not given us the Audio Device Info we requested, which would aid our understanding. even if I change i...

Re: Recovery dilemma, cant get past errors
Oh and I did update audacity btw, so I'll use that one from now on, which is more reliable correct? Generally it's best to use the latest Audacity version because it will have the latest enhancements and bug fixes. As regards the AUTOSAVE file yes I believe it will be more resilient in current Auda...

Re: Enabled Plugin Still Wont Show Up.
Shouldn't you change the pink box to reflect that? Perhaps. I wondered too, but existing users will still need to tell us the OS in their post, unless they have gone to their user profile and chosen the OS. I don't want to make the text in the pink box a lot more complex than now. And what about pe...

Re: Zoom Normal (Cmd+2) cursor position
I also made a note of my side issues: centre drift when zooming (not yet tested with actual numbers), more consistent zoom behaviour when playing, and alternatives to zoom normal doing "similar to" zoom in/out in all cases (though I agree if it would be an advance if it at least did "...

Re: How to hide "Check for updates" Menu option
Perhaps you still need to Edit > Preferences... , Interface section, and change language to "Simplified" (as I said). The user will still be able to show "Check for Updates" by changing the Language back to English, unless you recompile the MO file with the Preferences hidden. If...

Re: New Level Meter Algorithms; Waveform Display?
I've archived this topic and added an ednote to http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=VuMeter to look at clarifying that page and counting/consolidating "votes".

Re: Truncate Silence enhancement
You can archive it. I noted the request about pre-processing the audio to provide a more appropriate range of thresholds for the actual audio. I have no idea about the resources or processing time implications of that.

Have you opened Windows Task manger and looked at CPU usage or RAM remaining?
