Re: No audio in via USB interface
Open Windows Sound , Recording tab. Play a tape. Is the meter in Windows Sound to right of the interface dancing up and down? If the meter dances, make sure the device is default recording device in Windows Sound (if not, right-click over it and choose "Set as Default Device"). Press Windo...

Re: Recording Computer Playback - Windows 10
I don't fully understand what the Intel Device is - it does not appear to be display audio from what I see online. What happens if you make "S27D390 (High Definition Audio)" the default playback device in Windows Sound, restart Audacity, then make the playback device in Audacity "S27D...

Re: Garbled Audio
that is correct. I had at least 2 more files that had the same error with me making sure nothing else was sucking up resources in the Activity Monitor as suggested here. So, does reducing Audio to Buffer help? Set it to 0 milliseconds and try to record. If recording won't start, set it to 10 millis...

Re: Vinyl with Behringer U-Control UCA202
Within Audacity I have selected USB Codec as the recording input, but I can't adjust the recording level. The Audacity Help says I have to do this within the Mac's Audio Midi Setup, but here the volume sliders are greyed out and I can't make changes. Generally, Mac's do not permit volume adjustment...

Re: IRSC codes - How to?
I have no idea about ID3 tag systems, but I had noted the "Metadata" section on the export settings, which includes WAV format etc. To clarify, Audacity doesn't support writing arbitrarily named LIST INFO tags in WAV files: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/WAV#Metadata . So even if in Au...

Re: Garbled Audio
Isn't that just to fix playback errors? Would that imply that the error only exists when played back in Audacity? Maybe only on my machine? I can confirm that the error is still present on my editor's machine using pro-tools also The buffer fix primarily fixes clicky playback, but can also fix clic...

Re: Garbled audio in playback with Macbook
The buffer problem is primarily but not exclusively a playback problem. That is why it is in the Playback section of the FAQ's.kozikowski wrote:It's possible, but I thought the buffer thing was for recording where the machine had bad or ratty control over drive/memory during real time demands.
