Re: Can't install Auto-Tune

I recently bought Autotune, and have downloaded Audacity 2.1.1 to use it. When Enabling the VST Plugin in the Effects>Manage screen, I click on the VST, hit Enable, then press OK. However, when I try and search the Effects dropdown menu in Audacity for the newly enabled plugin, it isn't there. I re...

If you mean Windows 7, that is simply untrue. Windows 7 (and more so Windows 8 and 10) have optimisations for dual core but do not require it.

Re: Commentary audio not splitting correctly in audacity

Then do you have the internal and external mic tied up as one jack? Look in the Realtek Control panel. There may be something there. Gale When I plug in the splitter it doesn't come up as an external mic. So I have no external mic just the internal one. As I said, if you have Realtek set to "T...

Re: Sound dies when running audacity

My audio however gets cut off Do you mean sound from the wireless headphones stops? You have said you feel the issue is not with the headset, so for diagnosis would you mind to just disconnect the headset and let's concentrate on the Speakers / Headphones (Realtek). Play a song in Media Player then...

Re: libav error

Is this an Audacity problem? Might it be a problem with your AAC converting software? What is the name of that software? iTunes does not use libav of its own accord. It sounds as if your converter software may be hooking into QuickTime or iTunes. If you uninstall FFmpeg for Audacity, you will not be...

Re: Can't copy file to cd

Are you seeing a red symbol and a "length of file cannot be determined" error when you try to burn the merged file? If so, drag the merged file into the Media Player Library or into a playlist, then from there into a burn list. What format is the exported merged file? If it's for an audio ...

Re: 2.1.2 RC1 & RC2 Update Display during Play problem

Running 2.1.2 RC1 or RC2, on Vista Home Premium, waveform occasionally fails to scroll during playback. Looks like if it starts off scrolling it will continue but occasionally it fails to start. Stopping and restarting playback usually fixes this. Can't say whether it happens in 2.1.1 since I don't...

Re: Blu-Ray with FFMpeg reading m2ts

After creating a new 32bit file as described above. Audacity could not read the resulting wav file... or rather it only read 1hr or so out of a 2hr file. Then I tried dumping it as 'raw'. Then audacity would crash in the reading, and this time it was using ffmpeg in the reading anyway. 4 GB is the ...

Re: Unhandled Exception expanding after make stereo track

All that is needed to reproduce the bug appears to be a split after half way along the track, and to zoom in by any method to absolute maximum to left of the split. But the track needs to be fairly long. It does not necessarily reproduce with a 30 or 45 minutes track, but will probably do so if you ...

Re: Recording telephone conversations via a USB Voice Modem

This will probably take a lot of effort without any guarantee of success. Run dxdiag ( pictures at http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows/how-to-run-a-directx-diagnostic-on-xp/ ), save all information and attach it. Then disconnect the USB modem from the computer. Restart Audacity and show us Help >...
