Re: Toggle Waveform/Waveform (dB)
I force the first 0.5 sec to `all zeros´ when editing the file, then export a s FLAC. The files in question were processed recently and exported as described. So there must be some encoding hash (or noise) introduced when FLACing? Are you using Audacity to export FLAC? If so, dither noise may be ad...

Re: How can I repair corrupted 3GP audio files?
Import Raw Data is for "lossless" files, or reduced bit-depth lossless files. You don't have that kind of content in the 3GP files. Steve meant normal File > Import > Audio... . Don't use Audacity for file information. The Audacity bit depth only shows the (PCM) resolution the file was imp...

Re: Toggle Waveform/Waveform (dB)
Let say.. I open TWO FLAC files, one atop the other in the display window. In WAVEFORM mode, there looks like some ripple or `audio data´ in the 0.5 sec lead-in to the voice intro in both files where there should be SILENCE. However when switching one file (or both) to WAVEFORM (dB) mode, the Zero-...

Re: Administrator approval
For some reason (I don't know why), when you first use Audacity the default export directory is the directory where Audacity is installed (usually inside the "Programs" directory). "User files" (your files) should NOT be saved there. You should always save your documents, pictur...

Re: Hoarse voice on recording playback
The audio device is COnextant and the driver is MS compatible. If the driver is supplied by Microsoft then it is a generic driver not fully matched to your hardware. I unistalled it and tried to install a Lenovo driver but get a message that it can not be installed. You need to install the Windows ...

Re: Pause and Save
You are correct that you cannot pause then save or export. But you can use the "Play/Stop and Set Cursor" shortcut which is SHIFT + A by default. This will stop playback, but the editing cursor will move to the stop point so you can resume from there: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/k...

Re: VST plug in not showing
Don't forget to tell us your version of Audacity (all three numbers, see the pink panel at the top of the page). Audacity supplied by us at http://audacityteam.org/download/windows already has a built-in Tremolo effect: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tremolo.html . See http://manual.audacityte...

Re: Hoarse voice on recording playback
It's best not to use abbreviations like "A". Are you obtaining the audio drivers from the Lenovo site? That is the best way. If you are recording using a microphone, please state its make and model number and how exactly it connects to the computer. Also see http://manual.audacityteam.org/...

Re: Can't enable GSnap [Windows 8.1]
What version of Audacity? All three numbers please, see the pink panel at the top of the page. Did you get it from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows ? GSnap is available here: http://www.gvst.co.uk/gsnap.htm . Make sure you get the 32-bit version of GSnap, even if you are on a 64-bit computer...
