1.2.6 is years obsolete. See the pink panel at the top.
If this was a WAV or AIFF file you could try File > Import > Raw Audio... . I can't see Audacity has any other chance. If the encryption prevents the file being opened then Import Raw Audio won't help.

Re: Export Multiple exports silence from multi-track project
It's a known problem that started in 2.1.1.
To solve it, Export Multiple based on tracks and don't use labels, or Export Multiple based on labels and only have one track. To make one track, Edit > Select > All then Tracks > Mix and Render.

Re: Losing/Lost Audio
So you are not recording the video while recording the audio, but recording the audio only? Has Audacity stopped recording after 17 minutes, with neither blue Pause button or red Record button appearing depressed? What is the location of your temp folder (see Audacity > Preferences... then "Dir...

Re: How can I repair corrupted 3GP audio files?
Steve meant normal File > Import > Audio... . When I try to import that way, I just receive an error message: Audacity did not recognize the type of the file . Have you installed FFmpeg from http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown ? Audacity would need FFmpeg ...

Re: audacity 2.0.5 windows 10
Audacity supplied by us is always free, so I would definitely uninstall 2.0.5 if you purchased it because we do not know how that version might have been modified. Then install 2.1.1 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . Please see this help page for help with drivers: http://wiki.audacity...

Re: Clicking While Recording Every Two Minutes
He has a snowball, not a yeti. Sorry, yes that was a mis-association, but I in fact I now see Snowball Ice has a lower sample rate of 44100 Hz: http://www.bluemic.com/snowball_iCE/#/specs/ . I amended the details in my post. Regardless, that mic still does not officially support Windows 10. Gale

Re: recording time offset
The settings are assumed stock and are "Audio To Buffer: 100ms, Latency Correction: -130ms". Looks like I'd have to change one of these by 100ms. [...] The original condition as posted and involving a +/- 100ms lead in the guitar track being recorded is unresolved and remains unchanged. L...

Re: Clicking While Recording Every Two Minutes
Do you have any idea why it is my USB mic picks up interference at 2 minute intervals from recording start in my new laptop, but not my old one? For a start, Blue mics do not officially support Windows 10. Have you tried 44100 Hz project rate bottom left of Audacity, Windows DirectSound host, then ...

Re: Is Windows WASAPI sound card dependent?
So if I am recording using Windows WASAPI in WIN 7 using Audacity 2.1.1 does it make a difference what sound card I have as far as the quality of the recording is concerned? If Windows WASAPI is digital is it even passing through the sound card? I can't seem to find any info on how this Windows WAS...
