Re: Can't copy file to cd
No error message other than one stated in first post. Exported file as Wav 32bit. Deleted and exported as Wav 16 bit. Didn't make a difference. If it is for an audio CD that you play in a standalone player, there is no point using anything other than 16-bit WAV because the file will always be burnt...

Re: Plugin crashes
I spoke to a programmer about it last week. He said that the writers worked in base ten and not binary, meaning for example that 1Mb is worked out as 1000K instead of 1024. The buffer needs to be 8000, not 8192 nor anything else. OK I made this suggestion in the bug report and release notes. I stil...

Re: Saving mp3 ID3.2 tags with Audacity2.1.1 exe version
Yes, Florian Heidenreich of Mp3Tag (the developer of Mp3Tag, I think) also recommended using an ad blocker. It is something I've avoided (both for philosophical and more practical reasons) but I will trepidatiously look into them; since I download and examine many open source programs, the problems...

It's only an Mp3Tag bug if you are arguing they should not show two tags with the same value, or should do something else instead.jrobb229 wrote:Update: this may be a Mp3Tag bug and I have opened the topic there,

Re: Error whenever audio is recorded
Have you got Transport > Sound Activated Recording recording checked (ticked)? It looks like it given the Pause button comes on an off. If so, untick Sound Activated Recording, because that type of recording may crash 2.1.1. If that isn't the answer, drag the Audacity folder for 2.1.1 to Trash and i...

Re: Audio Track display - shades of blue
So, Gale, when we update the Manual later should we duplicate the information from Waveform onto the Tracks page - or just add a link? How about redoing the image at http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audio_tracks.html#stereo to include arrows pointing to peak and RMS? You could move the left cha...

Re: ALAC info missing / confusing!
The information at http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_exporting_to_itunes.html#alac is still correct for the upcoming 2.1.2 release. For exporting via (external program) you can point Audacity to any static build of FFmpeg from Zeranoe , even if very recent. Audacity is still at libsndfil...

Re: Saving mp3 ID3.2 tags with Audacity2.1.1 exe version
In certain fields (e.g.; the Year field) in the mp3 tag displayed by File/Edit Metadata that has a numeric value (e.g.; 2015, I haven't tested letter values) and then saved, shows up in other tag editors as "2015\\2015". Why (Windows 7 sp1, Home premium)? Because we save Year (and Comment...

Re: Toggle Waveform/Waveform (dB)
I force the first 0.5 sec to `all zeros´ when editing the file, then export a s FLAC. The files in question were processed recently and exported as described. So there must be some encoding hash (or noise) introduced when FLACing? Are you using Audacity to export FLAC? If so, dither noise may be ad...
