It plays in Audacity on Windows and Mac. But it's a Linux issue not an Audacity issue, isn't it?

Re: Have 2 Audacities open at the same time?
I've never run two instances of the same Audacity version, but I do sometimes run two portable installs of 2.1.1 and another version. Have a look at the manual: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Portable_Audacity Yes Audacity "unofficially" supports running two instances if at least one i...

Re: Flat line when recording from Soundflower
Sound clip is a Youtube video. You can download the video using a web browser. Use your favourite search engine to find out how. Then install FFmpeg from http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#macff and drag the video into Audacity. This will extract a copy of the a...

Re: ADJUST VOLUME ON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF A VOICE RECORDING
That's what I've been doing with some talk-show audios. Callers can be 7 dB too low in some cases, so I select those segments, hit Z for Zero crossing, hit Alt+A and type in a dB value. Just to note that ALT + A is probably a shortcut for Amplify that Edwinn added in Keyboard Preferences . Otherwis...

Re: Problem with *.wav play time file inside audacity
If you time the playback exactly with a watch or clock and it is correct in the other players but not in Audacity, please post an example file somewhere we can download it. You can also examine the reported length and the exact type of audio in the WAV file in "MediaInfo" from http://media...

Re: 2.1.2 RC1 & RC2 Update Display during Play problem
When is the slowness opening History occurring? If you launch Audacity and open History, how long do you wait? If you perform 200 actions that are recorded in History without having History open and then open it, how long do you wait? I don't think History was slow in recent previous versions of Aud...

Re: Audio Track display - shades of blue
Some of the PNGs look a little blurry, and that may be because the size of the screen cap was scaled bigger. If there are any specific ones could you send waxcylinder a private message saying which they are? I assume you have zero zoom level in your browser? We do try to avoid browser scaling but I...

Re: recovering files
Please don't forget to tell us your version of Windows (see the pink panel at the top of the page). You can't open AUP.BAK files in Audacity 2.1.0. You should open the AUP files (not the AUP.BAK files) in Audacity 1.2.6, unless the AUP files show an error or don't contain the correct audio. If you c...

Re: Administrator approval
Although I am not an audacity developer, I second this. Audacity should not default to presenting end-users with its installation directory to save or export to. This is non-standard. Installation folders are out-of-bounds for all applications when it comes to saving user output. I would not say Au...

Yes it happens. Please look where you are saving to. Once you have changed the project save directory it should be remembered by Windows.comuscomp wrote:Audacity saved it there by default.
