Re: Record/save tracks alignment issue
The tracks play fine separately after recording and editing, and they all play together fine as a group before saving, but when you save the tracks separately then import them to do more editing or to create a master, they are all at different speeds. How are you exporting separately? File > Export...

Re: Isolate selection of a recording
Uh...no. Let me explain it again. I open a new Audacity. I connect my microphone to my pc. I hit "RECORD" and I say into my microphone, "A, b, c, d, e, f ,g ,h ,i ,j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y, z." I then hit "STOP". I then hit the "X" in th...

Re: Export Multiple Metadata Undo?
I'm using Audacity 2.1.1 on Yosemite to create masters of music tracks from my old radio shows. Audacity has allowed me to do a great job of sound editing but I've made a mistake twice now in the Metadata Editor after using Export Multiple. It works as expected but twice I've hit the return key thr...

Re: Isolate selection of a recording
I'm wondering why Gale would tell me something that doesn't work and then fail to respond. On most forums you would wait 48 hours for one response, not get four or five responses in one day. :) And if one of the other helpers replies you get a faster reply that way. What I wrote does work if you ha...

Re: Isolate selection of a recording
Actually I am male. ;) the text in the dropdown menus lacked the black colored font OK, that's because although you can make changes to the selection while playing or paused, you cannot save, export or change the audio data by running effects or moving pieces of audio around. Just press the yellow S...

Re: Reimport of WAV not playing full audio
Please note I changed your username to "hayley". It is a bad idea to use your e-mail address as username on a public forum as spambots will see your address then send you spam. Also please tell us your version of Audacity (all three numbers, see the pink panel at the top of the page). I us...

Re: paste import pulse sequences for homebrew show controlle
Just to add that if you are selecting multiple files for import they will import in file name order.steve wrote:All you need to do is:
1) Import the files
2) Align tracks end to end
3) Export

Re: Recording on external drives
To mention an example or two of "thousands of bits".. one day I had recorded 2 hours of stereo audio but didn't export it, and left Audacity on the desktop. It might have been minimized for a while. Then around 9 pm, decided to do a disk cleanup with CCleaner. Sometime later, decided to s...
