Re: Audacity 2.1.2 & RTL languages (Arabic ...)
Thanks for your report. These problems appear to be similar to those reported on Windows too. I tried to submit this problem in bug report system but the registration not open. This policy is to prevent spam and prevent posting of non-bugs by users who merely want help using Audacity. I am looking f...

Re: Move some export preferences into export interface
Finally, they have to find File > Edit Metadata... . which is two lines above "Export audio". Hard to miss if you know that it is called "metadata", but many users probably think of it as "tags". Perhaps that is the underlying problem? A rename might help marginally .....

Re: Move some export preferences into export interface
I strongly disagree that it is intuitive for export multiple to have no way at time of export to prevent having to click OK on every single metadata screen. I agree, which is why I'm proposing to move the option into the export dialog. Tell me what happens in your scheme if the user unchecks "...

Re: Move some export preferences into export interface
I would have thought it fairly obvious that adding metadata on exporting "a file" will apply the metadata to that file. It only takes a little use of Audacity to realize that metadata is saved in projects, so pretty intuitive that metadata saved in the "project" will be passed t...

Re: Sample Rate Woes
Are you recording or importing? When you import a first file, Audacity changes the project rate if necessary to the sample rate of the file.
A second imported file does not change the project rate. Audacity never changes the sample rate of a track unless you explicitly change it.

Re: GSnap VST plugin and Audacity v2.1.1
GSnap for Linux is beta, so use at your own risk: http://www.gvst.co.uk/portpage.htm . Follow http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/effect_menu.html#vst to put the Gsnap.so (NOT .dll) file in a location Audacity searches, then open Effect > Manage... , select the effect, click Enable, then click OK. ...

Re: Inconsistent Recording Latency (Win 8)
The worst one, the late one on the right, is 1.008. That's 0.008 seconds off. Or about 350 samples off. I think it is pretty normal but a little below par. Have you turned Skype off, if you have it? How fragmented was the drive you are recording to? If it was not very fragmented, then fragmentation...

Re: Loss of sound
If you have previously recorded from a USB device, read this for how to reset Windows to the correct playback device: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... k.html#usb.

Re: Weird sounds on playback
If you want, after showing disabled and disconnected devices in Windows Sound as I described, you can restart Audacity then open Help > Audio Device Info... top right of Audacity. Press OK then Save. Attach the saved deviceinfo.txt file for us. Please see here for how to attach files: http://forum.a...
