Re: Error opening sound device

Please see this FAQ: Why do I get "Error while opening sound device"?.

If you need more help please tell us exactly what you are recording, make and model numbers of the recording equipment and exactly how that equipment connects to the computer.

Re: Audacity Recording Weird

Please see the pink panel at the top of the page and tell us what Audacity version you have (all three numbers). The current Audacity version is 2.1.2 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . You choose the device to record from in Audacity's Device Toolbar . How are you connecting the headse...

Re: Can't Record at all. Please Advise

Fabbelle already appeared to say there are separate green (output) and pink (mic input) ports. And presumably do you have a blue line-in input too? Do you have any built-in speakers on this computer or is the only way to hear audio to plug external speakers or headset/headphones into the green outpu...

Re: Need help getting a plugin to work

It will appear as "ANWIDA" (the name of the DLL file) in Plug-in Manager until enabled. After it has been enabled, its name in the Effect Menu and in Plug-in Manager will be "L1V" (the name embedded in the plugin). Audacity cannot determine the name of the plugin until it scans i...

Re: GSnap and KeroVee do not affect audio in 2.1.2

Works for me on Windows 10 with the KeroVee control I said. Please provide a sample WAV file and exact settings (names of controls and values) that change the file in 2.0.0 but not in 2.1.2. If "choose a setting" means you choose a saved preset, please export the preset and attach it. Than...

Re: History window slowness

B and C shortcuts not working was a bug in 2.1.1, now fixed. [...] I wanted to use this fixed 2.1.1, so I downloaded what I thought would be the "final" build of 2.1.1 but it still has the bug. Build date was 7/11/2015. Can you point me to the fixed version? If a release (for example, 2.1...

Re: Audacity CLI scripting

Mod-script-pipe is experimental so totally at your own risk (but thanks for trying it). You can run two Audacity instances (but not currently on Windows) by adding a "Portable Settings" folder to one of the folders Audacity is run from. * The mod-script-pipe interface is blind and therefor...

Re: Export in 2.1.2 is nice and Theme wish

I can record your "vote" for a punch in with pre-roll. Please state exactly what version of Linux you are using. Are you talking about the horizontal scrollbar? On Ubuntu with GNOME, scrollbars are like small Dinky toys that you can try to grab (if you are lucky) when you hover over the ba...

Re: wrong position of Audacity 2.1.2 window on dual monitors

Thanks for the detailed report. I assume this has happened because we were fixing a problem where if the Audacity window was slightly outside the screen at any corner, it could reopen at unusably small size.

I created a bug report: http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1314.
