Re: Questions about 2.1.2

Thanks for the feedback, Cyrano. Next release please feel free to test the Release Candidate builds if you can - that is what they are there for. Tested on Mavericks, with a lot of plugins, because I badly needed to weed out tests and expired demo's from my plugin folder. Not one plugin crashed and ...

Re: Recording playback on Windows 10

Please be aware that recording to external drives (that is, specifying the external drive as Audacity's temporary folder in Directories Preferences) risks recording dropouts due to slower speed of external drives compared to hard drives. Merely exporting to the external drive is fine. A/B comparison...

Re: audio exported under name without one dot of many

I agree you might call it a minor bug. If you open "a..wav", you are offered "a." in the exported file name, with the ".wav" being implied if you are saving as WAV. Saving should then show you the overwrite warning but it creates a new file "a.wav". Another sy...

Re: Windows 10 taskbar VS Audacity 2.1.1

I have Audacity running and choose to minimize the window. From there, although the task bar responds when I select the icon, it does not present the window again. I have to click on the desktop icon as if to open a new session and the original shows. Unfortunately, it opens as full screen. I assum...

Re: Make Stereo: White Space Trap

Audacity 2.1.2 I love the ability to make a stereo track from the track drop down menu. However, I can't trust this function any more. Trailing white space in the first track leads to unexpected results: - Create 2 signals, a few seconds long. - Align the tracks end to end. - Choose "Make Ster...

Re: GSnap and KeroVee do not affect audio in 2.1.2

If you provide a sample file that reproduces the problem and tell us exactly what settings or preset affected the file in 2.0.x but now does not then I can test it on both Windows 10 (or 7) and XP. In particular I don't have a lot of solo voice files and I don't even know if your files are singing o...

Re: i can't download plugins from the website

The links to the plug-ins should now be working. ... if you right-click them and save as, or if you left-click them and select the plugin text for pasting into a file. We're still seeing if we can make left-click download all the files listed rather than only some of them. Or we could simply host a...

Re: no longer can import audio file

(OS X 10.10) iTunes files cannot be opened from Media > Music in Audacity's file open dialogs. You could drag your iTunes "Music" folder to the Finder sidebar to give quicker access in Audacity open dialogs. I see the same behaviour in Mavericks, with the latest iTunes installed. Opening ...
