Re: Workflow on mixing tracks
I will have a stereo track and Split Stereo Track. I will mute one track and work with Envelope Tool on the other track (so I can hear that channel on its own). Then I will select both tracks and Mix and Render. I do not want one channel silenced, obviously. What is going to happen in your scheme? ...

Re: Cannot see USB recording device
I am using a just-purchased cassette player with USB output to convert my cassettes to digital audio files. The PNP USB device appeared and was selected with the initial installation of the Audacity program. It disappeared after I changed the default playback device so I could listen to the first t...

Re: Recording with C Media USB Mic
In this example, the "Internal Mic" is the default. To change the default to "PCM2902 Audio Codec - Analog input", I would click as indicated by the red arrow. http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=14729 What does the green arrow signify on the "Set as fallback...

Re: Create process failed - Code 740
My run as administrator box is checked but I still get the error. Do you mean that is right-click the Audacity installer > Properties > Compatibility tab? Or is the issue occurring after you successfully install Audacity then try to launch the installed Audacity? Where exactly have you installed Au...

Re: Windows 7 Audacity Internal PortAudio error / no devices
The only thing I did see change was that Audacity now had a startup guide window, and was not fullscreen but was windowed, which I've never had before. Perhaps that is because you reset the Audacity preferences? If a residual part of Stereo Mix Plus is causing the problem then I would assume Audaci...

Re: Workflow on mixing tracks
Are you suggesting that Mix and Render silences the muted track, or its part in the mix? That's a rather back-to-front way of looking at it ;) I'm suggesting that if a track has been muted by the user, then it should remain muted for the mix. I'm suggesting that Mix and Render should not override t...

Re: Spectrogram - how to make it the default view upon openi
It's a bug, most likely in the PortAudio library Audacity uses. There is no setting - it should leave the balance alone. I don't understand. Is this on importing files, or recording or what? Is it a Windows only bug? If I understood Worez correctly, none of those. I can actually reproduce it myself ...
