Re: I guess it's best to wait for 2.1.2a? 2 questions.

I'm reading a lot of issues with 2.1.2, and as I have a working 2.1.1, I guess the thing to do is just wait for the fixes? yes/no? Also - installing 2.1.2 wipes out all plugins and settings - is it best to merge rather than overwrite the installation on the Mac (mini) Robert It is not recommended t...

Re: Cannot add to Audio Track

To clarify, Append Record is only for recording at the end of the selected tracks. Audacity does not do "punch in record" in the middle of a track.

Re: only records mono

The setting is already 2 (Stereo) Record. I can open or import existing files and they are 2 tracks, but all audio now records as only one track. Exactly what sound device are you recording from in "Recording Device" in Device Toolbar ? You may have to set the sound device to stereo in Wi...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2 definitively don't work with Windows 10

Please download audio drivers only from the manufacturer of the sound device or motherboard or you may harm your computer. If you need more help please use more words to describe the exact problem or error messages you encounter and tell us the make and model number of the computer and exactly what ...

Re: Record 2 independent inputs simultaneously with ZOOM H4n

Even under WASAPI Audacity only sees two inputs.

You could try Reaper (free trial) or some other ASIO enabled recorder to see if Zoom sends four channels over ASIO.

If not, then the limitation appears to be that Zoom only passes the internal mics when running as an interface.

Re: Removing repetitive clicking from a damaged .wav file

Almost certainly the raw data import is incorrect because VOX (Dialogic) ADPCM is not the same as Intel (IMA) ADPCM.

VOX ADPCM is actually a headerless format by design.

Re: Workflow on mixing tracks

Try Googling or Yahooing "Mix and Render" and see what you get => a couple of Audacity entries mixed in with loads of stuff about buiding trades rendering - you don't see any other audio apps. Similarly try "mixdown" and then see what you get. So on the basis of that research I'...

Re: Record/save tracks alignment issue

Thanks to the Audacity team for fabulous software. I have a similar problem...I think (reason for replying and not starting a new post). It is almost always best to start a new topic. You are on a different operating system to the other user, almost certainly have different hardware, your specific ...

Re: Sound Activated Recording 2.1.2 not working properly

If you are using a USB mic, try restarting the computer. There is no known problem with Sound Activated Recording in 2.1.2. I reinstalled 2.1.2 over the correctly working 2.1.1. I opened Audacity and checked if it showed the version 2.1.2. It did. I closed Audacity. I closed all opened programs. I ...

Re: Amplify fade-in/out

If we need lots of controls in the new effect then it is not viable to incorporate those into Amplify, though I don't think Amplify is all that simple now. I'm inclined to agree the options that LeeJames suggested and my desire for an audible fade length should probably be kept out of Amplify. The n...
