Re: only records mono
For example, are you saying your recording looks like this, with the top or bottom of the stereo track a flat line?" Yes, that is what is happening: Blank bottom track, when recording and playing back the recording. [...] If one of your computer speakers is muted, that is what you need to fix....

Re: crackling -begins during recording
OK. I added a FAQ for the next release "How can I prevent clicky recordings on Mac OS X?".theradioactivekid wrote:Reducing "Audio to buffer" by ten times does seem to have sorted it. I had read the FAQ, but as I wasn't monitoring output after the Mac, I didn't think this was relevant to me.

Re: Saving as 24 bit files
I have been doing exactly what you state. I tested a recording again using that exact process. Again, the file was saved as .aff format. In the current Audacity 2.1.2 which you should be using, the issue is merely that .aif extension is wrongly added. The file is still a WAV. Either add .wav to the...

Re: Recording from turntable issue
Feedback and speed problems usually have different causes. Make sure you have all updates for El Capitan. Early El Capitan had issues with older USB 1.x and 2.0 devices. Change the USB cable or use another USB port. If you are using LineIn from http://www.rogueamoeba.com/freebies/ turn off Transport...

Thanks for your post. What error or problem did you receive when enhancements were checked?
Yes it is normally recommended to turn off enhancements for internal or external microphones: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... hancements.

Re: Exported MP3 podcast file restarting after 3 minutes
If I understand it, the project plays fine in Audacity. The exported file plays fine when you import it into Audacity or play it on your computer. The downloaded file from the server plays fine on your computer. So the problem is with the server not being able to play the file properly. Have you cha...

Re: Can I skip to end of current working Track, not Project?
My forum Profile suggests I can add a signature to posts. Do I assume you saw that in the Forum FAQ? If so I updated it http://forum.audacityteam.org/faq.php#f2r4 to state that if you make lots of good posts helping users then you can ask to join Forum Crew which allows you to use a signature. Gale

Re: Saving as 24 bit files
Note also that in 2.1.1 you have to click the "Options..." button to access the choice for WAV and 24-bit PCM.
In the current 2.1.2 release http://audacityteam.org/download/windows the options for each format are embedded in the export window.

Re: Exported MP3 podcast file restarting after 3 minutes
So is that screenshot after you reimported the file that you had exported? Does it play correctly? Or did you have a complex project with multiple tracks and clips? And if so do you have that project still that you can show a picture of? The only likely explanation if the content of a single-track p...
