Re: Can't open project
How do I save it in Media Player? Is there a location? Maybe I could give it a separate folder. Windows Media Player can't save files except burn them to CD. Is that what you mean? If so have a look at this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/burn-cd-dvd-media-player-faq#1TC=windows-7 ...

Re: Recent file Menu enhancement
An alternative long term approach could be to adopt a feature that is commonly found in grown up DAW applications, which is to have a "media manager". Does such a manger typically replace either file open or file save dialogues? Does it know which files are used in which track(s), a dilem...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
I was trying to use spectral selection to filter noise. When I tried to set the upper and lower frequencies from the spectral selection toolbar, I couldn't type in any numbers - or anything else. Pressing backspace seemed to work as "going back one character". You can't type a number high...

Re: Reduce low volume to silence
Please tell us your version of Audacity and Windows (see the pink panel at the top of the page). Win XP, Audacity 2.12 If 2.12 is not a typo, please obtain 2.1.2 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ . Have you tried increasing Sensitivity to stop the warbling? I had thought decreasing...

Re: Cutting very short blank audio - bugged?
See 2. Why does LAME add silence to the beginning each song?.
In other words, don't use MP3 if you object to the starting silence.
If you insist on MP3, you could try http://www.compuphase.com/mp3/mp3loops.htm.

Re: Reduce low volume to silence
Please tell us your version of Audacity and Windows (see the pink panel at the top of the page). Have you tried increasing Sensitivity to stop the warbling? You can use Noise Gate to silence the parts in-between your words, but that may not sound very natural. To counter that you could record room n...

Re: Workflow on mixing tracks
I still prefer the tracks mix behaviour to be controllable from the Tracks menu. I presume that you would want the setting to be retained from one session to the next? If so, then it needs to be handled as a "preference". Nothing to say that we could not make the preference accessible thr...

Re: Audacity locking up issue
Please keep me posted on any new fixes. I don't think many people are having your issue as an intermittent problem. When Audacity updates to the latest version of the PortAudio audio I/O library we use, it might help. No one has mentioned "Audio to buffer" yet in Audacity's Recording Pref...

Re: Recent file Menu enhancement
I'm not sure the list order should update every time you save a project. If you were working on multiple projects and saving them periodically the order would keep changing. The specific problem you mentioned would be solved by having a separate list for projects. However personally I would like to ...

Re: Anomalies in 2.1.2 ---
So you appear to be clicking outside the Audacity window as I said, which obviously removes the meter from view. The only thing I don't understand is why the Audacity main window does not disappear. Have you installed some app that keeps windows on top? Gale Nope, no installed things keeping window...
