Re: Can I install new build alongside existing Audacity?
Probably a stupid question, but I have an existing Audacity running on my Mac - and I'm using it in production. I have just built both Release and Debug versions, apparently successfully. But ... can I install either of the two while the existing production version is on this system? Or are they mu...

Re: wxWidgets crashes_third-party plugins
Not a problem enabling plug ins. Happens when launching them or after running and hitting apply. The point of that is that you can use Plug-in Manager to disable the plugins that are bad. Please name the plugins that crash and give us a URL where we can download them. Are you saying all plugins cra...

Where does it say "Unknown Album"? It sounds like you did not add metadata tags to the songs when you exported. See Metadata Editor - Audacity Manual.

Re: Looking for guru to transcribe recoding of wifey
This sounds like audio for a legal case. For that audio to be admissible in court it needs to be processed and verified by an audio forensics expert approved by the courts. We do not provide those services. Use your favourite search engine and look for "audio forensics".

Re: Mixing 4 channels to 2
Steve, I don't understand how to "set both "left" channel tracks to "Left channel" in the track dropdown menu " and do the same for the right. I have loaded the tracks and opened the track dropdown menu, but I don't see how to do it. Do you have four Audacity tracks or...

Re: using the "Aqua" theme on Linux/Unix/(not OS X)?
Yes, the extra height is probably inevitable. But the extra width is. MacPorts makes it very easy to switch back and forth between installed package versions, so I'm attaching a screenshot of the X11/GTk 2.1.0 version from there. My build on Linux looked just like it. If you don't get any answer he...

Re: Is anyone building on OSX 10.11.3, Xcode 7.2.1
The instructions in Build.txt are quite explicit. I suggest you follow those. Gale Bit difficult really. On the Apple Developer site, the download of Xcode 4.3.3 contains SDK 10.7, not 10.6, I have to go all the way back to Xcode 4.0 to find the 10.6 SDK When I downloaded "xcode_4.3.3_for_lion...

Re: Audacity crashes whenever I use my external mic
I have an external blue yeti mic (connects thru USB) and whenever I try to record with it, Audacity crashes after a second (you see the recording bar trying to move, freezes, and then everything crashes) . :/ I switched to the built-in mic on my laptop and everything is fine. Have you reset the Sys...

Re: Audacity crashes whenever I use my external mic
I'm using 10.11.1 OSX My yeti plugs in to my laptop via the USB port I tried with the headphones, and tried to play music on my laptop. The sound just comes out of the external speakers on my laptop, but I do hear a quiet static-y sound from the earphones when I plug them into the yeti. If you want...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
I had played a bit with spectral selection. So, I wasn't expecting to have to enable it in another fashion for Nyquist plugins. Spectral Selection is off by default. I would argue that is unhelpful for many people who want to use Spectrogram view. Especially when it is so hard to find where to turn...
