Then right-click over the speaker icon by the Windows system clock and choose "Recording Devices". Right-click over the headset then choose "Properties". Then click the "Listen" tab. Make sure "Listen to this device" is not enabled.

Try turning off Transport > Software Playthrough in the Audacity menus.

When I downloaded "xcode_4.3.3_for_lion.dmg" last year it contained the 10.6 SDK as well as the 10.7 SDK, irrespective Apple's description only mentions the 10.7 SDK. Please try that download and let us know if it still also contains the 10.6 SDK. Gale It doesn't appear to contain any SDK...
