FWIW the Xcode 7.1 IDE builds Audacity OK for me on El Capitan. But you have to ignore its complaints about the 10.6 SDK being used, and not change any settings it suggests need changing.

Re: audacity 2.1.2 fails to compile on open suse 13.2
I got the tarball from here http://www.fosshub.com/Audacity.html/audacity-minsrc-2.1.2.tar.xz . Now I tried to compile from git repo. Both, master and 2.1.2 tag give this error on compilation What is your exact configure command? What is the site script "/usr/share/site/x86_64-unknown-linux-gn...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
As an uninformed user (read, one that doesn't RTFM), you have to find: 1. the left side track menu to go enable spectral view. You can enable Spectral Selection in Spectrograms Preferences, but I agree that is not all that obvious or convenient. We're talking widgets. The uninformed user has no ide...

Re: Volume of edit doesn't match original track
I'm not sure which Windows settings you mean. I went to Control Panel/sounds but don't see anything to adjust. My interface becomes the default input when I turn it on. My record level in Audacity is 0.36 and the gain on my interface is about 65%. I doubt Windows would show you sound effects for Fo...

Bought a Dell Inspiron 15Rlast year, running windows 7, with a single jack which toggles between line in, mic, speakers, etc. (I used to be able to record the output of my cassette player just fine on an older laptop.) Now I can see a strong incoming signal on the microphone monitors but when I pre...

Then look at any control panel the headset has, which may have some playthrough option.
I assume it is a USB headset but you have not given its make or model number, so we can't help you search for a solution.

True, of course. But you could use the Audio Track Dropdown menu to Split Stereo to Mono, then use the L....R pan slider on each track to adjust their positions in the stereo field.cyrano wrote:It's only 2 channels, so recording microphone and keyboards in stereo simultaneously wouldn't be possible.

Re: Drag and Drop Import Broken v 2.1.2
This is related to a security update. Someone found a way to execute code, hidden in an audio or video file. Since the average user will never suspect these files to carry malware, the update was badly needed. I doubt it. Why would iTunes and VLC still accept audio files by drag into the app? Gale

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
In that case perhaps you should support my view that there should be a small widget displaying high and low frequency when in a waveform view. We already have a widget that displays the high and low frequency selection. It's called the "Spectral Selection Toolbar". Apparently Peter does n...

You may as well stay in this topic to discuss about exporting. Start a new topic if you post a sample of the booming noise.
