Re: problem with lp transfer
i get feedback on the volume and no audio when i try to preview the track before recording. In Device Toolbar choose the USB turntable for recording device and the built-in audio for playback device. If you do not see the USB turntable recording device, click Transport > Rescan Audio Devices. Then ...

Re: fade- overlap track?
And just because everybody gets this wrong, you can't do this with one track. Of course you can - see Crossfade Clips . @Steve - why does that page above talk about having to have audio clips (which term it doesn't explain)? AFAICT it works fine with just selecting across the end/start of audio in ...

Re: New Operating system compatible with new Audacity
Please tell us where you saw that so we can correct it.dddleary wrote:I noticed that the new version of Audacity is not compatible with the newest mac operating system or OS X 10.11 (El Capitain).
http://audacityteam.org/download/ states correctly (OS X 10.6 or later).

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
I have had quite a bit of off-list feedback (and some on [email protected] too, IIRC) since Spectral Selection Toolbar was introduced that it is "un-necessary" and "too large" and that it would be better to display the low/high/centre frequencies of the spectral selection in the Spectro...

Re: Waveform / file empty after crash
What were the exact errors in Help > Show Log...? If Audacity is still open, please attach or post the contents of the log. What does closing the laptop do? Sleep or shut down? If it shuts down, and you had not saved a project yet, then I'm afraid the temporary data is wiped when the computer restar...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
How useful do you think it is for a visually impaired person to set a track to Spectrogram view, enter the frequencies in Spectral Selection Toolbar, open a spectral effect then receive an error message? I agree that is not user friendly, but displaying the upper and lower frequencies in the wavefo...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
But as I said, many sighted folk don't want enabling spectral selection to turn on Spectral Selection Toolbar because of the screen estate it takes up. Who are these "many sighted folk"? We've never had it that way have we, so I don't see how many sighted folk can have objected. I have ha...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
The advantage (some may say disadvantage) of the high/low frequency numbers in the waveform is that you could then, if you wanted, apply spectral selection effects to all selected tracks irrespective of their track view. I understand Paul would prefer that. To me that makes more sense, given we sto...

The AUP file is probably corrupted. Please attach it. Please see here for how to attach files: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 49&t=64936.

Re: 2.1.2 (from .exe) Windows 7; monitor active; does not re
If you want to record cassettes, the only "correct" input to choose in Audacity is Line In. It is also possible to record with stereo mix if you can enable "Listen to this device" in Windows Sound for the Line In input. Mic in would be the worst choice. In Windows Sound, do you s...
