Re: ART USB Phono Plus spdif in on Ubuntu

Direct access to the USB turntable should be listed as one of the (hw:1.x) devices, assuming you have no other USB devices connected. The simplest method may be install pavucontrol (pulseaudio volume control), make the required input to be default input device in pavucontrol, then choose the default...

Re: Can't Launch Audacity 2.1.2 on Windows 10

Do you have any other security apps that use "heuristics" to monitor what an app is doing? Do you have any "tune-up" utilities that modify how Windows behaves? How do I know that? Look at your installed apps? Windows Start, type "apps &" (without quotes) then hit E...

Re: GSM 6.10 Wave File format?

Moved to "General Audio Programming". My project is using GSM 6.10 audio compression and I'd like to use Audacity to "play" some of the sound clips. Does your created GSM 6.10 file play correctly in Windows Media Player (assuming you are on Windows)? Unfortunately I doubt anyone ...

Re: Name and performer together in iTunes

Could be the name and artist was extracted from the file name. More than likely, given iTunes does not read metadata in WAV files. iTunes reads metadata in AIFF files. Now that I tried again, there's no offer to enter anything. This was with a new project and import from .mp4 Yesterday, the offer w...

You should know better than that. ;) CD quality (16-bit, stereo, 44100 Hz) is 1411 kbps (16 * 2 channels *44.1 = 1411.2).

Re: Playback is fast and skipping

What audio device are you using for playback?

You may want to reduce "Audio to buffer" in Recording Preferences: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... mac_buffer.

Re: Name and performer together in iTunes

Split from unrelated topic http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=90191 Yesterday, I exported a wav and filled in name and performer for that song. In iTunes, name and performer were together in the first field, name of the song. I don't do this very often, so I have no idea if it w...

Re: Problem with Low Pass Filter

If you are still stuck with this, please tell us what version of Audacity you are using (see the pink panel at the top of the page).

Please, make a zip file of the project and the data folder if uploading to Dropbox or other servers. This makes it far easier.

Re: Selections, Time Shfit Tool, and Label Tracks

1) I'm still having trouble adding SILENCE to an audio/ label track sync pair. The Label track isn't shifting, even though it's sync'd. If you are generating rather than pasting, I agree. I notice that it broke in 2.1.1. I will add it to Bugzilla if it's not already there. It is also a serious lack...
