Re: fade- overlap track?
I am saying that in the selection after the crossfade (now 2s to 5s) I can only hear tone (which is visibly and audibly slightly fading out) from 2s to 3s. I hear no noise until 3s. yes, that's correct, but a significant difference between the two is that when there is a split, the first song will ...

Re: Audacity without Pulseaudio Ubuntu 14.04
Did you open ALSAmixer, F4 for capture devices, use arrow keys on your keyboard to move to the device you require, then press SPACE on your keyboard to set that device to CAPTURE? The screenshot shows how Gnome ALSA mixer is set up - Realtek is selected. [...] I'm trying to record streaming sound f...

Re: Playback is fast and skipping
I don't think it was recognizing the Apogee mic since it hadn't been showing up in the dropdown menu until we deleted the files. Assuming it uses the lightning port, then if you connect it after Audacity is open you will have to use Transport > Rescan Audio Devices in the Audacity menu bar. Gale

Re: 2.1.2 RC1 & RC2 Update Display during Play problem
I had discovered that just starting Repeat-Play (shift-space) and stopping it anywhere in my 93 minute project put Audacity in the crippled-auto-scroll state. Zoom level, location and length of the selection didn't matter. OK thanks Dick for boiling it down to simple steps. I can reproduce that on ...

Re: 2.1.2 RC1 & RC2 Update Display during Play problem
I assume SPACE not stopping playback then pressing SPACE again crashes has not happened to you again? That might cause a freeze of Audacity on Linux systems using pulse, but it is not a known problem on Windows.DickN wrote:Ok, here 'tis
It is probably a once only problem.

I merged the topics. Do let us know if you have a solution to propose. Otherwise it will have to wait until Leland can look at it. As I said, we are very short of Mac developers.

Re: audacity bug quand je clique sur Add/remove plugins...
Thanks for attaching the zip. There is no obvious indication which third-party plugin is to blame, but it is most likely one of your VST's. I suggest you quit Audacity, delete the file Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Audacity\pluginregistry.cfg, then move all your VST plugins to your Desktop ...

Re: Free, Cross-Platform Sound Editor has Stopped Working
Even if you are a podcaster, I moved this to the Windows board as it is more likely to help other users if posted here. Uninstalling and reinstalling Audacity by itself never changes anything. To reset Audacity settings, choose "Reset Preferences" half way through the Audacity installer, t...

Re: fade- overlap track?
I don't hear that in your demo case in the complete cross-faded selection Do you mean the "with-split.wav" or "without-split.wav"? I can't follow what you're saying. The "with-split.wav" or the steps I understood you were doing: where selection before crossfade with sp...
