Re: Playback is fast and skipping
Hello again. I am having success with recording and playback at the moment, but received this pop up earlier. Does this give you any new info? (btw, it doesn't use a lightning port. Then where do you connect it to the Mac exactly? One reason you might receive error opening recording device is if it...

Re: RMS measurement for large files
Is that true on Linux and Mac as well as Windows? On Linux, the split between the kernel and the user address range may be configured in different ways. On my 32-bit Linux machine, which has 3 GB of RAM, the user address range is 2 GB. I guess that it could be more on a machine with more physical R...

Re: Windows 8 64 Bit User Need Help with Plug-ins.
I really need to now the proper upgrade instructions. Such as.. can I install ‘Over the Top’ of the old version 2.0.3? Or... is it better to uninstall the old version, and then install the fresh or new version? If the latter is true, then I need to copy my existing files and Plugin add-on’s correct...

Re: De Essing on Audacity
Paul's De-Esser is I think quite slow (?) and requires quite a lot of knowledge/preparation. That was why I posted the link to MDA-VST as a possible alternative.

Re: Audio noise when trying to record a vinyl record to Auda
You seem to have made that Dropbox file private. If the noise is USB "whine" noise, it might be helped by ensuring the USB cable is tight both ends and making sure the cartridge/headshell is tight. You may still get some USB "whine". Does your Mac have a stereo line-in? [macstin]...

Re: RMS measurement for large files
Nyquist is a 32-bit library and so has a 2 GB limit for address space. Is that true on Linux and Mac as well as Windows? I have not tested on Linux or Mac (I guess you have) but my understanding was that on Linux and Mac, Audacity would be tied to (something like) a 4 GB limit rather than the by-de...

Re: Distorted/Phased Playback
I've resolved the issue by doing the following: In Playback Devices, open Properties for my digital interface (in this case Focusrite Scarlett 2i4). Under Advanced, change the default format from "2 channel, 16 bit, 44100 Hz" to "2 channel, 16 bit, 48000 Hz". Hopefully this will...

Re: Can't Launch Audacity 2.1.2 on Windows 10
I am having trouble installing Audacity 2.1.2. on a Windows 10 Pro machine also . The Win 10 OS is an upgrade from Win 7, that was a restore from Win 8.1 which I hated. Audacity 2.1.2 was an upgrade from a previous version that worked fine at one time but started freezing up. I have used Audacity f...

Re: 2.1.2 RC1 & RC2 Update Display during Play problem
For me, just standard playing the selection without looping restores auto scrolling. Yes, it will because Play was started with either the spacebar or the Transport Play button. That's one of the things that restores it. The other is turning auto scroll off and back on in Preferences (you have to O...
