Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
When you switch back from a spectral selection tool to selection tool, the spectral selection will disappear from spectrogram, won't it? No. I'm suggesting that if you click and drag on a track in spectrogram view with the "normal" ("time") Selection tool, a "normal" (...

Yes. Are you advancing the Start Date to the next day?PaulKVan wrote:You refer to the "spinner controls that set the recording times". Do you mean the small windows in the Timer Record window in which you "dial up" the start time and duration?

Re: Timer Record freezes but recording continues
We did used to have a moonphase bug whereby Audaciy TR carried on recording past it's pre-set termination date/time, but I have bot experiences this for years now. The bug is still open http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42 - this is the third apparent report in 2.1.2 since release. I...

Re: Getting Multi-track with a zoom H5 and Audacity
Disconnect the zoom from the computer and use the menu on the H5 to set it to multitrack. It's on stereo by default. See page 72 of the manual. After that, reconnect the Zoom and it will appear with 4 channels in Audacity. You will need to "rescan for audio devices" under the Transport me...

Re: Error 404 for 2 pages in tuts
If you were seeing our custom 404 page as intended http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/404.html there is no "return" link. I chose the wrong words. Sorry. It's the link "Go to Home Page of Manual". I does what it says, only I was coming from the tutorials page. Seemed counterintuit...

Re: Audacity creating noise spikes in captured audios
A USB 1.1 or 2.0 device will of course only work at that speed even if connected to a USB 3.0 port.
Reboots are good for USB recording devices.
If the problem does come back even after rebooting, please attach an example.

Re: Selections, Time Shfit Tool, and Label Tracks
If you look in Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Audacity\audacity.cfg, your modified keys are listed in the [NewKeys] section. Now that you mention the CFG file, there are two file PATHS defined: DefaultOpenPath = E:\\- MEDIA 720\\- RADIO SHOWS\\ [ Export ] Format=FLAC Path =E:\\- MEDIA 720\\...

Re: Selections, Time Shfit Tool, and Label Tracks
Audacity doesn't examine/ retrain what folder a drag-and-drop came from? As I already said, "Export Audio should also open at whatever DefaultOpenPath is, but due to a longstanding bug, it doesn't." Application Notes even See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.1.2#Imports_a...

Re: Selections, Time Shfit Tool, and Label Tracks
Spacebar Play/Stop is essential for editing no question, but one cannot effectively Record and add labels with this configuration IMHO. This is incorrect. You can use SPACE to add a space in label text while recording, as long as the label is still open. The problem may be you are using RETURN or E...

Re: Free, Cross-Platform Sound Editor has Stopped Working
Just delete your Audacity.cfg file and then restart Audacity. In other words, this does the same as enabling the Reset Preferences box in the Audacity installer which I have suggested several times. Run the installer and in the "Select Additional Tasks" screen, put a check (tick) in the &...
