Re: Recordings breaking up
Yes, I built the PC Myself and everything works fine except this  All test with dxdiag run fine and I have never had any play back issues with video or audio files. Playback is much less demanding than recording. If you post the DXDiag report it is possible to check that you have the correct a...

Re: Recordings breaking up
Advanced is greyed out. Well, that's just broken. ;) Did you build this computer yourself? Unless you are absolutely sure you have the correct audio driver, please attach a DXDiag report . Please see here for how to attach files: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936 . Gale

Re: Export in wav only includes certain tracks/stereo-mono p
There is actually nothing to pan from L to R using the stereo track on Audacity. I only have the right channel showing and it's only going through the right side of the headset. If you have chosen to record in stereo with the empty channel, then you can use the Audio Track Dropdown Menu to Split St...

Re: Recordings breaking up
Thanks, but I do not have the option to make LineIn the default Recording Device in Sounds and Audio Devices. The only option is SoundMAX HD Audio. Having selected "SoundMax HD Audio" as the sound recording device, click the "Advanced..." button. See: Windows Sounds and Audio De...

Re: Timer Record freezes but recording continues
I tried the Timer Record method immediately after that, checking to see that the timer windows were tracking the system clock properly and ensuring that today's date was in the window (I started recording immediately). It froze at 10 sec. Thanks, Paul. If you set an immediate Timer Record of 5 seco...

Re: Free, Cross-Platform Sound Editor has Stopped Working
just a quick word, if someone cannot find the hidden files use %appdata% in the search computer window in all programmes and you 'll be ok. Indeed, as we say at http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/preferences.html#stored , but Reset Preferences in the installer does the same thing. I think there i...

Re: Recordings breaking up
Another test would be to make LineIn the default Recording Device in Sounds and Audio Devices then record in Windows Sound Recorder (you are limited to 60 seconds of recording). If Sound Recorder does not break up, perhaps it could indicate interference with Audacity by some security or anti-virus a...

Re: Recordings breaking up
We can't remotely solve the problem for you. You have old hardware and an obsolete operating system. ;) You could look in the SoundMax control panel to see if it has any sample rate settings but I doubt that. Does using Windows DirectSound host in Device Toolbar make any difference? Otherwise please...

Re: LIve Equalizer?
I had too old a version of Audacity, 2.0.5 . Followed Steves step by step instructions here and updated to a newer version, thanks Steve. Now the Calf plug ins are working, I get the 8 and 12 channel parametric eq's. Seems they have a simple graphic , but not for Ubuntu ? There is a Manage button b...
