Re: Adding Cover Art & Meeting I-85 Compliant Needs

Does this depend on 44100 Hz to begin with, and does it require changing to a higher rate than 192000 Hz if the original audio is at a higher rate than 44100 Hz? The specification for "true peak" assumes a normal audio bandwidth - that is, up to about 20 kHz. The recommended 4 times overs...

Re: Recordings breaking up

Thanks, yes I have tried all the things suggested, including disabling my security. What security app, exactly is that? I did not tell you to disable security. Please enable it, whatever it is. Your machine is vulnerable because Microsoft no longer supports it with regular security patches. All I s...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2: comportements gênants et bizarres.

The window of 2.1.2 opens normally without the "com.apple.windowserver.plist"? file. I put this file in an external hard drive, and replaced the "com.apple.windowserver.plist~orig", which is a "fichier executif" (exec) -( executive file in english?) at his place in the...

Re: Adding Cover Art & Meeting I-85 Compliant Needs

About "true peak" measurement: Audacity does not have a built-in "true peak" meter, but the playback meters can be made to show "true peak" level with a simple user setting. Set the "project rate" to 192000 Hz before playing the track. This causes the audio t...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection

As I restated them three days ago... I'm an old bloke, I forget stuff ;) and I get tired of goung back and re-reading this long thread ... I certainly agree it's tiresome while we are just going round in circles. First P2. "Enabling Spectral Selection Toolbar does not enable Spectral Selection...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection

If it was down to me, short term, I would have a Spectral Selection button in Edit Toolbar that turned Spectral Selection on and off, and get rid of the Spectral Selection checkboxes. Both Peter and I have previously argued in favour of this. I still agree that it looks like a big improvement to wh...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection

this thread has become long and confusing (I can't remember what I "actively opposed") ... Perhaps you could write down here what it is that you would like to post as P2s and then we can continue the discussion from there. As I restated them three days ago... First P2. "Enabling Spec...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection

If it was down to me, long term, I would have Spectral Selection always on in Spectrogram view... I would be reasomably happy with that if and only if spectral selections were only available in a spectral view and were removed (changed to a strictly temporal selection) if and when the user switched...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection

The real task will be getting it past Paul, I guess. I'm sorry but I just dont buy that  I know this is a do-ocracy and all that - and that Paul made the initial do-ocratic implementation - BUT he does not own it. We all share ownership of this project, it reflects on all of us. And one of ou...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection

I believe it will help your case to consider the points I am making. In response to you asking my opinion several pages back, I said that if it were down to me, then I'd have a "spectral selection tool". That's my opinion. That is not relevant to the points I was making, which are aimed a...
