Re: Windows 7 & Audacity 2.1.2
If you have empty space at the start of the shorter tracks because you aligned them to the end of the longer tracks, that empty space is not exported, meaning those shorter tracks will remain shorter. If you want those shorter tracks to be exported as the same length as the longer tracks, you must t...

Re: Lost the _data folder - How do I rebuild?
I would like to see a "Project Manager" where you can copy or move a project, make incremental backups, delete old projects, zip up projects and so on.
We need to decide the ultimate project format first.

There is also Safe Sleep, which leaves RAM powered on but also copies data to the drive:kozikowski wrote:There is only sleep that I know of.

Re: Absence of Line In in devices toolbar
Line-In if provided is almost always a separate (blue) input alongside the mic input (pink). Look in your computer manual to see if there is supposed to be a control panel for the sound device where you can change the input from mic to line level. If not, then you can consider a USB interface with a...

Re: Recovering AU-files
Assuming you can read the temp folder (look at Help > Show Log...) then the AU files would indeed appear to be silence.
What does closing the lid do, if not shut down? Sleep, Safe Sleep, Hibernate?

Re: Help for us broadcast editors that have to hit a show cl
What does this script do? You've not tried it :o I have, and I think the message should be more verbose e.g. "measured length x mins y seconds over/under target of a mins b seconds". It took me a few minutes to work that out. I see it does not consider white space before the audio - is th...

Re: Audacity Crash on Startup Mint 17.3/Ubu 14.04
The recreated audacity.cfg (I'm using the default 2.0.5 right now) contains only: NewPrefsInitialized=1 Version=2.0.5 PrefsVersion=1.1.1r1 [Version] Major=2 Minor=0 Micro=5 [Directories] TempDir=/var/tmp/audacity-wittend It could be an incompatible audio device issue. Audacity creates entries for a...

Re: Lost the _data folder - How do I rebuild?
I created a new folder and put both the data labelled E00 and the .aup in there but separate. Koz explained why that was incorrect. To save this problem in future, never do copying and moving by hand. Simply open the project, File > Save Project As... and save as a new name, or the same name in ano...

Re: Can't Load a WMA File
Where does the file come from? If it has Digital rights management restrictions then Audacity will not import it. In that case you will have to play the file in the player that is registered to play it and record the playback into Audacity . Note also that 24-bit WMA Lossless files cannot be importe...

Assuming you want to align the track ends without adding silence at the ends as the means of align, click in the first shorter track, press End on your keyboard, hold SHIFT and click in the Track Control Panels of the other tracks you want to align, then Tracks > Align Tracks > End to Selection End....
