Re: No device
I have a ASUS computer, Windows 7, Kenwood Control Amp & Kenwood turntable. I am not using the USB connection, my cable is RC on one end and a headphone plug on the other. I plugged the turntable in the Amp then ran line from the Tape 1 Rec to the Mic plug on the computer. Where is my mistake??...

Re: Cannot open file .aup
The .AUP file seems empty or filled by blanks when I open it with Notepad. However, its size is 136 Ko. Is it possible to create this file manually ? We can't tell you unless you attach the file, but from your description the AUP file is just NULL's. It can happen if you shut down the computer befo...

Re: USB Codec recognized, but no sound recording.
If you connect using the USB cable then Audacity will record what you send over the USB cable.RUSSH wrote:Will Audacity record and respond to anything coming out of my board, such as any effects and sound level changes?
Audacity does not add its own effects while recording.

Re: Can't Load a WMA File
The file is from an inexpensive Olympus VN-6200PC digital voice recorder. It's a recording of a church service and can't have any kind of digital rights protection. Do your know the recorder has not added DRM, even if you did not intend it? Does Windows Media Player play the file? If so you can rec...

Re: LIve Equalizer?
I see the calf 30 band eq listed here http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/wily/man7/calf.7.html Does this mean I can use this in 14.04 if I figure out how to get it loaded to my computer ??? Ubuntu Wily is v15.10. You have 14.04. It is not usually recommended to install deb packages for versions of...

Re: Couple Of Questions On Recording and Editing
No, Sound Activation "post-roll" settings would be a "feature request". There is an option to adjust db levels on Sound Activation. Might that help preventing the cutoff in some quiet sections and keep recording active? Which way should I try, up or down? I'm not familiar with d...

Re: Audacity Crash on Startup Mint 17.3/Ubu 14.04
USB headphones are an external audio device. Headphones with a green TRS plug are not, because they are using the built-in sound device. As the FAQ said, plugins are also a possible cause. If Audacity launched before, consider what you changed since the time it did launch. If you "rip ALSA out&...

Yes there is Standby on Macs with SSD's.
The following seems to be the definitive article about sleep on Mac: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT202824.

Re: Move some export preferences into export interface
I strongly disagree that it is intuitive for export multiple to have no way at time of export to prevent having to click OK on every single metadata screen. Many users say it is unintuitive, and worse than that, this is something that Audacity 1.2 actually got right. In other words, it is a regress...
