Re: Move some export preferences into export interface
But those tweaks are not a requirement to fix bug 551. And none of this discussion about metadata handling for Export Multiple is required for the proposal in my original post (http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=296129#p296129). Absolutely. But as I pointed out, about four times as many ...

Re: Move some export preferences into export interface
The users want the specific 1.2.6 export multiple behaviour that I refer to in my previous post (but not the other quirks). Saying "Like the behaviour in 1.2.6" has not been useful to me, though I think that I'm now seeing what you mean. There are so many aspects of metadata handling in 1...

Re: Move some export preferences into export interface
You're right it doesn't really matter, but the behaviour in 1.2.6 is very quirky. I used "slightly" different steps and got a completely different behaviour. I imported a file rather than recorded a file and the metadata editor did not open. That makes sense, but only in the context of ho...

Yes, see my post just before this. But I only ever saw two or three complaints about it.steve wrote:But it always starts numbering from "1" doesn't it?Gale Andrews wrote:Track number increment already happens now.

Re: Move some export preferences into export interface
Once recorded, B-sides become irrelevant. CD's have no B-side and unless you were recording back to cassette, the info "B-side" no longer has any use. What I mean is: If you have an album on tape or Vinyl and it has 7 tracks on "side A" and 6 tracks on "side B". If you...

Re: Move some export preferences into export interface
I suggest we actually pay attention to the 60 or so votes we have for making the *very common* use case work intuitively with minimal user effort. I presume that this is the feature request that you are referring to: " Checkbox in dialog to pass metadata through to all exported files automatic...

Re: Move some export preferences into export interface
just enter the common metadata once at the expected time when the metadata editor pops up. In 1.2.6 it doesn't pop up. It has to be opened by the user prior to export. It really does not matter given 1.2.6 is history, but for first time export in an unsaved project yes indeed Metadata Editor pops u...

Re: Selections, Time Shfit Tool, and Label Tracks
Labeling on the fly while recording is working VERY WELL after (temporarily) disabling the Start/Stop Spacebar shortcut. Sorry, but there is simply no need to disable SPACE when typing labels during recording. The only way that SPACE would stop the recording is if you pressed ENTER after typing the...

Re: Lost the _data folder - How do I rebuild?
IT WORKED!!!! Thank you so so so much. I had to create an alias for the .aup one as once i moved the data into a new folder the .aup was dated too far away. If you create an alias, it makes it the same date(TODAY) and then I exported it as .wav for my podcast at TheEditorial.com. I am so grateful!!...
