Re: Why does RMS change for Mix and Render when only one tra
I'm not able to reproduce the issue. Is it repeatable for you? I cannot reproduce it either, but why is pasting part of A into B a necessary part of the steps? I would guess an explanation could be that you have Transport > Overdub on, and some of track B is thus pushed behind zero, and that you th...

Re: Windows 7 & Audacity 2.1.2
Your screenshot looks OK. That location must be "C:\Program Files\FFmpeg for Audacity" (the normal location you install applications to), not "Programe Files". Two other things you could try. You could try exiting Audacity, uninstall FFmpeg, delete audacity.cfg then install FFmpe...

Re: Windows 7 & Audacity 2.1.2
I completely uninstalled Audacity,FFmpeg,Lame all & removed residual files also through powerful scan & removed programes suspected to have link with ffmpeg like eac3to. Searched for any folder or files named ffmpeg after uninstall.Ensured nothing left over. If you want to use the export co...

Re: Selections, Time Shfit Tool, and Label Tracks
Thanks, Steve. Yes, I see. I was concentrating on scrolling backwards to a label you were still typing, rather than forwards to what had not yet been recorded. Once the recording gets past the visible project space, whether "Update display while playing" is on or off, I don't think it's th...

Re: Absence of Line In in devices toolbar
The micropbone port on some computers is not only a mono mic port but a "compatible" port that also detects stereo line level input when connected. These compatible ports generally do not give as good results as a proper stereo line in like you could get from a USB interface. So you can st...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2 + FFMPEG 2.2.2 results in poor M4A qualit
I noticed after using Audacity 2.1.2 with the FFMPEG 2.2.2 binaries that exporting audio via the M4A(AAC) codec results in pretty lousy audio quality on the exported file, despite moving the slider all the way to the right (500). I had previously been using Audacity version 2.0.5 with FFMPEG versio...

If it's a popular 90's song there "may" be downloadable instrumental versions of it online. Check the terms and conditions and the legitimacy of the site when you download.

Re: Strange sound when recording
Append-recording, generally speaking, does not create clicks where you restart recording. I take it you are sure that the noise is not the SHIFT key on the keyboard? Could you tell us exactly what mic you are using (make and model number, and how it connects to the computer) and upload about 6 secon...

Re: Windows 7 & Audacity 2.1.2
as far FFMPEG all whatever you have mentioned I tried. Removing from Path, Removing from audacity configuration file everything suggested in this & every forum. Audacity is so Audacious in accepting FFMPEG library while lame is getting accepted lamely (so easily) when I'm loading both simultane...
