Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
I agree that it's not a "bug" in itself, which is why I've not put it on bugzilla either, but it's a design flaw that we allow the error condition to arise and then rely on the plug-in to handle it. Conceivably a plug-in could behave perfectly for all valid frequency selections, but cause...

Re: Strange sound when recording
Overdub lets you hear a track that already exists when recording a new track. It is for example for people who record a guitar solo then record their voice while listening to the guitar part.

Re: Export multiple labels adding album?
As I explained, what you type in the label is what you get in the file name that you see in Explorer. The exceptions are that you can choose in the Export Multiple dialogue to add a number incrementing from 01 in front of whatever you type in the label, or you can add a number incrementing from 01 a...

Re: Flat line when recording Scarlett 2i2 playback
If you were wanting to record computer playback from the built-in sound device you would if available choose the "stereo mix" or "what U hear" recording device in Audacity's Device Toolbar . Stereo mix or what U hear should work with any host (MME, Windows DirectSound or Windows ...

Re: Strange sound when recording
Audacity has a bug with Append Record that if Transport > Overdub is on, it intermittently plays fragments of previous recording on that track. The fragments can then get recorded. So turn Overdub off and see if it helps. If that does not help, does removing the extension cord make any difference? B...

Re: I found a fix for dragging and dropping on windows 8.1
Disabling UAC through regedit fixes dragging and dropping from explorer and wmp on windows. I think if you move the Audacity folder out of Program Files (x86) and somewhere like My Documents, and don't run as administrator, it might also fix not being able to drag and drop, although I haven't teste...

Re: Pluck Generator
such things are not "immediate", and am certainly not expecting this change to magically appear in 2.1.3! I don't recall anyone else complaining about pluck (usually a tuned note) using MIDI. MIDI may be easier than frequency for some. It's mainly up to Steve if he wants to offer frequenc...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
Or insist that all selected tracks be made the same sample rate. <snip> That should be a simple change. Yes that should be quite simple, but it only mitigates some symptoms rather than dealing with the problem. Some problems would still be present. Example: 1) (optional) Set the default wavetrack v...

Re: trouble with time/length showing up on media player
The problem occurs with WAV too in Windows Media Player 11. To solve it, drag the file into the Media Player Library or into a playlist, then from there into a burn list.
Don't export AIFF - Windows Media Player does not burn from AIFF.
