Re: Export multiple labels adding album?
I explained what the options in Export Multiple do. These accord with the behaviour you describe. I also explained that Audacity does not name the exported files according to chosen items of the metadata. If you import a file as the first action in a project, it does add that file's name to "Fi...

Re: copy stuck in Audacity 2.1.2 under windows 10
1/ I have selected audio ( a piece of MP3 coded track) before clicking copy . 2/ Paste does not respond more than copy . Reinstall Audacity 2.1.2 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ . Look for the "Reset Preferences" checkbox half way through the installer. Ensure you tick ...

Re: Lame settings [SOLVED]
The main point to me is that we can't make any sensible decision when there are so many use cases. Which is why I very much welcome the new Export dialog that exposes the MP3 settings when MP3 is selected (rather than 'hiding' them behind an "Options" button). Of course that somewhat miti...

Re: Black Banner post Audacity Load
After loading a file in Audacity (after some time has passed using the file) a black box/banner will popup and make the program unusable. I have to force quite the application and restart it. Screen shot attached. I think one other user vaguely reported something similar but did not respond further...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
Should we close this topic now this small group has agreed on the basic idea of an improvement for 2.1.3? Sure, but feel free to leave a summary list of the main points - that could be helpful if we need to write a formal proposal on the wiki (especially as you are QM). Do you mean main points or m...

Re: Lame settings [SOLVED]
As I said elsewhere I think it was a mistake to change the default from constant bit rate, and probably a mistake to set the default above 128 kbps. LAME default is 128 kbps CBR (for a stereo track). That is what we should use as default, IMHO. I doubt that we will hear from the happy users that ar...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
Another peculiarity is that if you duplicate a track (select the track then Ctrl + D), the track, its audio and all its "properties" (track name, track view, gain, pan, envelopes...) are duplicated. There is one exception: track spectrogram settings. This 'looks' like a regression against...

Re: Recording quality not as good as source
If you want the exact YouTube audio as source, then assuming you have copyright holders' permission to record it in the first place, download the video. Use your favourite search engine to find out how to download YouTube videos. Then extract the audio by dragging the video file into Audacity (assum...

Re: ransomware in Audacity 2.12 installer.
I just tried to install audacity 2.12 with the full Windows 7 installer. Audacity does not supply any "2.12" version nor do we have "full" installers or trials/restricted versions. I would guess you downloaded Audacity from a scam advertisement. If so you should report the adver...

Re: Lame settings [SOLVED]
Find out that I have to use "constant" bit rate and now it works. As I said elsewhere I think it was a mistake to change the default from constant bit rate, and probably a mistake to set the default above 128 kbps. LAME default is 128 kbps CBR (for a stereo track). That is what we should ...
