Re: copy stuck in Audacity 2.1.2 under windows 10
If you are playing, recording or paused, there is an "active" audio stream and the Stop button will be bright yellow. You can also press SPACE on your computer keyboard to start or stop playback or recording. No-one else has your problem. Perhaps you have not selected the audio. You select...

stienberg Steinberg. i have removed said steinberg folder as every time i look up how to install VSTs it dose NOT SHOW that folder Our instructions do mention Program Files/Steinberg/VSTPlugins. Re: Audacity 2.x.x takes 1 min to start, Audacity < 1.3.0 2
Is your hard drive constantly pounding during startup? My CPU use goes up from a typical 15% to 35% while Audacity is launching on Windows. Audacity 2.1.2 startup on an SSD system. 1.5 seconds. I get about 10 seconds launch time of 2.1.2 on El Capitan, Mac Mini with an HDD. So much quicker than on ...

Re: Audacity 2.1 crashes
Don't call it a day before it's midnight, but I just recorded a few minutes Stones (with the Audio USB Codec) and even played it back without that annoying greying. If the playback problem was freezing (greying) then it is almost certainly due to that pulseaudio latency setting: http://wiki.audacit...

Re: Audacity 2.x.x takes 1 min to start, Audacity < 1.3.0 2
There are probably multiple reasons 2.x is slower. A lot goes on when Audacity launches, such as querying audio devices and looking for LAME and FFmpeg. 1.3.0 did not support FFmpeg, and only used one audio host (MME). 2.x.x has to query audio devices for supported sample rates and other features se...

What does Help > About Audacity... say exactly for Audacity version number? On the "Build Information" tab of About Audacity, what is the program build date (near the bottom)? Ingeschakeld Programma-informatie Bouwdatum van het programma: Jan 22 2016 Commit-id: No revision identifier was ...

Re: Installing Anwida Soft light Reverb
Just adding a current info referring to Audacity 2.1.2 and v3.232 of Anwida Soft DX Reverb Light: if you have copied or moved the downloaded .dll to the correct plugins subfolder of Audacity, you have to activate Anwida in the plugins manager (as it is listed as "new" there which means it...

Re: Spectral selection labels
To then isolate the frequency regions, you can use a bit of "Nyquist" magic. Of course if the audio is white noise there is still some visible spectrum remaining outside the spectral selection. :) There are a few feature requests for ability to select multiple regions, and more for select...

Re: Normalize default setting
Audacity 2.0.2 is very old now. Unless you downgraded due to Audacity's "Internal PortAudio Error", I suggest you obtain the current Audacity 2.1.2 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . 2.1.2 should save the settings of all effects, not just a few of the built-in effects. And if ...

Re: Strange sound when recording
Did you try without that extension cord? If you get the problem with Overdub off then presumably it is your equipment or sound card that is the problem and not Audacity. How long does it take after you press SHIFT + R for the noise to happen? Does if help if you start speaking sooner after you press...
