Re: new computer: Audacity adds a high-pitch noise to playb
Thanks for the details and clarification sizemore. Looking at the "Audio device info": This looks weird to me (though I'm not an expert on Windows). Your recording device is set to: Device name: Speakers / Headphones (Realtek High Definition Audio) (loopback) Host name: Windows WASAPI You...

Re: Silent files that cannot recover
What version of Audacity do you have? Give us all three numbers, see the pink panel at the top of the page. When you do Automatic Crash Recovery you can look at Help > Show Log... to see if there are any clues as to the problem. If you mean the AU files are silent (flat line) then that is how they a...

Re: YouTube -> phone?
I have a new phone that was supposed to be identical to the phone I had a couple of years ago. It isn't. One difference: on my old phone, all I had to do was record from YouTube or similar sites, and could automatically use those tunes for ringtones. This phone says QCP format not supported. Not ev...

Re: new computer: Audacity adds a high-pitch noise to playb
No, Steve, there has been no solution. If you listen to the audio file attached to my previous post, you will clearly hear a bass sound PLUS a high-pitch noise. That was a recording of a bass phrase wav file being played back by Audacity on my new computer. On my new computer, I created that bass p...

Re: Error while opening sound device??
I was recording and playing back until I got this error. "Error while opening sound device. Please check the playback device settings and the project sample rate." Everything seems to check out as far as I can tell, but perhaps I don't know what to look for? Please help. You can look at t...

Re: ringmodwithLFO has a error message
I am not sure what you are saying, but have you tried restarting Audacity? yes. Are you saying you have a Chain containing the ringmod command but that ringmod command is not recognised when you run the Chain? yes. and some of them are that way. But you can fix that, as I said. Delete the existing ...

Re: Can't Launch Audacity 2.1.2 on Windows 10
Well, that didn't last long. After just two days of success, Audacity began acting strangely. I started to write a post and document the irregularities but stopped because I was finding work arounds and thought it was just me getting used to a new version. But, this morning (3/9/16) I opened up Aud...

Testing requested on Windows 10 for PortAudio Errror
As of 9th March 2016, Audacity has updated to the latest PortAudio sources (r1966). We would like anyone on Windows 10 who had to use Audacity 2.0.3 or earlier to avoid Audacity's Internal PortAudio error to see if the latest Audacity "nightly build" now recognizes all or some of your devi...
