Re: Tremolo effect now limited to 10 Hz?

When you are new it's probably best to post in the board for your operating system. I remember in an older version that the tremolo effect would be able to go higher than 10 hz. Is there any way to do this in the new version? (I'm taking a guess that I'm going to have to get a new tremolo plugin, ar...

Re: new computer: Audacity adds a high-pitch noise to playb

I don't have Skype on the new computer. The only music-related software apps that I have installed during these first few days are Audacity, LMMS, NI Kontakt, NI Reaktor, and a small number of my favorite vst instruments and effects.. You can simply right-click the speaker icon by the system clock ...

Re: I found a fix for dragging and dropping on windows 8.1

I mean dragging and dropping files from explorer into an open window in audacity. In what circumstances does that fail? Running File Explorer without admin rights when Audacity is running as Administrator? Or the reverse case? Are you executing Audacity from a shortcut or executing Audacity directl...

Re: Lame settings [SOLVED]

Does that really infer that the "recommendation" is for VBR 50 % quality, rather than just being an interface suggestion? I guess they 'could' have decided to show the GUI recommendation with non-default settings (though I can't think why they would do that), but the text / links on that ...

Re: Weird noises when recording

Yes, I am using Soundflower. The setup is not complex at all, actually, you just need to create an aggregate device, and that's pretty much it. Please tell us more. Which devices exactly are you aggregating? You still get both parties to the call in both channels of stereo recording, I assume? The ...

Re: new computer: Audacity adds a high-pitch noise to playb

If something is incorrect about the audio drivers, then why does that affect only Audacity, while all other sound applications function perfectly? Because Audacity can choose sample rate (project rate), the quality of resampling from one rate to another (if that is required), and different "au...

Re: help saving voicemail

I can't figure out what to do. Some voicemail systems allow you to export your voicemails as sound files. I'd start with the phone manuals. I assume this phone uses the Android operating system, right? If so the voicemails are probably stored in the cloud and you may have to pay to retrieve them. T...

Re: Weird noises when recording

Thanks, Steve, but the problem is not with playback but with recording. When I play back the recording with the noise I mentioned, the voice from the other source (i.e. Skype) isn't distorted. The buffer setting affects recording too, that is why it is in the Recording section of Preferences. And y...

Re: new computer: Audacity adds a high-pitch noise to playb

No, I didn't specify the audio drivers. I assumed that Dell would just build the computer properly, because that's their area of expertise. However, after dealing with them, I can now easily imagine they could have built one or more components incorrectly. Go to the Dell site, enter your exact comp...

Re: Tape player

I have been using Audacity very successfully to copy my audio tapes to MP3. The program works fine, but the tape player has stopped working. How do I get a replacement Audacity does not make or sell USB tape players, if that is what you have. What are the exact symptoms of the tape player not worki...
